Robomodo Hints At Other Projects For Ride Peripheral

The industry continues to break through boundaries and expand into new and exciting areas, especially when it comes to peripherals.

We've already seen the advent of musical instruments for massively popular franchises like Guitar Hero and Rock Band , and let's not forget about Robomodo's invention for the upcoming Tony Hawk: Ride . This accessory will finally take the controller out of our hands and put it under our feet, where it belongs if we're talking about a skateboarding simulator. But according to Develop , Robomodo CEO David Michicich has confirmed that Ride won't be the last time we'll see this nifty board. When asked if we'd see the peripheral applied to other projects, Michicich said:

"That’s really difficult to answer because we’re kind of, ah, [pause], we’re kind of, [pause], we’re doing a game with Activision and we’re not allowed to talk about it right now."

Recent job postings all but prove that Robomodo is indeed working on a new extreme sports game, although we have no details on this project just yet. So who has some ideas? We're going to go with snowboarding; it would make the most sense if we're looking at that plastic board's design. We'll be interested to see how Ride turns out first, though.

This game had better bring the goods, from a consumer standpoint I see this as beating a dead horse, prepare for epic failure Tony Hawk

How about surfing? Anyway, I have yet to see a game catering to owners of a peripheral turn out to be fantastic.

This is gonna be Awso…. erm.. fail

Other types of games for this board can probably be guessed within a few tries, unless they try and go down a WII Fit route, then it will be a few tries plus one more.

I'm much more interested in plastic instruments than I am in this, and I haven't bought a plastic instrument in two years.

I would like to try this out but from the videos I've seen, it doesn't look "natural" with some of the movements that the "riders" were performing. I have noticed that the local shops are STACKED with a lot of these for all platforms. I mean, multiple shelves full, for each system. Cheapest I've seen it go for was $89.99 shipped online. Much better deal that way.
