Street Fighter II is widely regarded as one of the best fighting games in history and this year's Street Fighter IV fully resurrected the ailing franchise. However, it was missing the bonus stages from SFII that everyone considered most satisfying: bashing on cars and barrels! Well, both of these random acts of destruction may reappear in the upcoming Super Street Fighter IV , as indicated by Joystiq (citing a recent edition of Famitsu). We so wanna smash up those cars again! Remember how it was always a little easier to do with certain characters? Or maybe it just felt easier with certain characters? We don't intend to leave all the silliness and goofiness of yesteryear behind as we continue to advance forward, and besides, we need a break from pummeling human opponents. Maybe we'll get other mini games, too; maybe we'll have to try breaking down other vehicles, like freakin' trains or something, or maybe we can bash on small buildings like Godzilla. How sweet would that be?
Well, whatever. We just want to break those cars and barrels again. Make it feel just like Street Fighter , please!

agreed. if fighters could once again get their own stages and music that'd be sweet. I don't like how the current SFIV has 2 jungle stages and 2 boat stages; they could've just had one of each and thrown in 2 classics: Ryu, Ken stages

Each character deserves a stage!
if they did it right they could kind of replace loading screens with these, cover load times with a small minigame like this. loading sucks and takes you out of the game. it would also help with the overall flow of the game.
2 people sit down to do matches for a while, inbetween each fight they smash crap while the next level is loading after character selection. then maybe they add a perk or something for getting so far smashing things in the mini-game. then you could start the round with a bonus and give more replayability.

i am not sure what you are asking me.
Its just that SFIV loading times are barely noticeable if you install the game.
yeah i did install the game but no load time is better than a small load time. also im assuming that the 360 version would benifit from that idea. not that i would care. just a thought.
also this article is talking about a future street fighter.

Absolutely my favourite part of Street Fighter II. And yes it definitely was easier to beat up the car with certain characters, E. Honda and his cheap as hell hand slap did a wonder on it if I am not mistaken.
Damn you and your reference to Godzilla beating on buildings, Ben. Now I want a new Rampage game. Rampage was the jam.
I hope they don't. As much as i like SFII. This is SFIV! Not a 3D remake of STII, i think sometimes we have to remember that! The game should have its only unique qualities and not have to rely on the Almighty SFII.
well SF III has also minigames but yeah some new minigames would be better instead of just remade the SF II ones.

I loved the car basihing bits in Street Fighter! I always wanted to see one of the characters just get in the car and drive off though, lol awesome Honda commercial I'd say ^_^
this is why i love the community of this site. people that come here often and know each other from the site. this site has been my home page for over a year now and have been comin here for about 2 years. i only started posting a few months back after readin so many of the same people thoughts. now every one knows each other and i think it is great.
slightly off topic i know but i just thought it was funny. i read this article and thought about how scarecrow will be all excited about this. apparently i was not alone 😉

Great addition, I was so sad when The Pit stages were removed from Mortal Kombat.

I wouldn't mind taking a test drive, but the dealer always has to ride along and it feels like I am taking a driver's license test.

I don't know, I refused to go to the Doctor and eventually got better. I'm a stubborn man 🙂 But for awhile there I couldn't even game, that was a bummer.

Better than half of the extra mini-games most fighting games out there have these days, imo
Also, if you notice from the scans the stage that the car is on is similar to the one found in Final Fight 1 where you got the chance to beat up a car at a gas station. Lots of people are saying that this points to Guy and Cody being in. Man I really hope they are, at least Guy, he's the one character I'm hoping to see in Super.
By the way am I the only one who loves SF to death? Seriously, ya'll should join me! Just look at the reviews this game has gotten across the board, specially at psxe
