It's always frustrating when your battery runs low and you realize with chagrin that you forgot to charge any others.
Well, Energizer wants to keep you playing by giving you an additional way to insure all your controllers are primed and ready to go. They're producing a series of Power & Play Charging Stations for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii; what you see pictured here is the PS3 station that supports two controllers at once. With a couple extra USB cables, you can charge up to four controllers and you can nab this on store shelves for only $29.99. If you really can't wait for any controller to charge, you can also pick up the 10-foot cable for a simultaneous play-and-charge for the additional price of $9.99. This is a good option because the controller recharge cable that comes with the PS3 isn't anywhere near 10 feet, which has been a major complaint of gamers thus far this generation. Energizer is also offering special Advanced Lithium Batteries, plus some super rechargeable batters that can be recharged up to 500 times. It's too bad that we sometimes have to run out of power, but hey, if you've got the right accessories, you're covered.
We'll try to find other nifty holiday items for ya as we get closer and closer to December. We figure they can help.
Well I'm always close enough to plug in but this is a cool idea, gotta feel bad for those xboxers and their batteries though…
That was a big deal for me…batteries are expensive!!!
Yea that's one big gripe about the 360 controller. Not only are those AA batteries expensive, they also give the controller more weight.
I'm surprised there aren't Microsoft brand batteries guaranteed to last longer.
Did you say longer?
::confused::
hasn't this thing been out for over a year now?
Yes, this has been out for quite some time. I've seen a lot of stores clearance them out and almost bought one for $2 but I already have 12 ft. cables that I got for $1 each and those allow me to charge while I play. I haven't seen this product in any shops for quite some time.
Yeah I almost bought one before I realized I would never use it.
I always kill the battery on one controller and use a fully charged one.
These things would encourage too much short-charging which is really bad for your batteries.
Not really needed…
The ps3 can charge the controllers just fine…
I have this thing (only mine says Pelican on it) and its actually really useful. I charge my controllers when my PS3 is off. Its really good if you have the newer model and dont want all your USB ports taken up.
the one in the pic says pelican on it too
lol also what is up with this
http://blog.us.playstation.com/2009/10/district-9-forged-together-with-god-of-war-iii/
Sony is handling distribution of the movie/bluray so they're using it to have the god of war 3 demo and district 9 movie in one disc.
is that worldwide releases for district 9, or just US?
i'm guessing its worldwide. The article i read had the line a gift to ps3 users worldwide. Im not sure though.
🙁 nope according to mike kebby from the euro PSN store its only for the US district 9.
🙁 sonys giving me the finger yet again.
I often charge mine using my pc. 🙂
End of Line.
i have that charger thats in the pic
its cool cause it lights up red while charging and green when its done
I dont really need one. I have 4 dualshocks so i just switch controllers when one dies while charging the old one.
meh i picked up a 4M USB cable from myer for a nifty 5 bucks not bad.
more than long enough so i can sit back and relax while playing a game while the controllers charging.
only problem being once i fell asleep at like 10 in the night, i woke up needing to go to the loo, forgot the cable was pluged in and sent the controller flying.
huh surprised it still works.
speaking of controllers, has anyone else had the problem with the R2 button going loose?
every year of use or so i have to buy a new DS3 because the R2 button goes loose and starts pressing itself.
i remember having allot of trouble with this in R&C TOD because R2 was for the jet boots, every 5 minutes i would go flying of a bloody cliff.
i wish sony would fix that, for 100 bucks the DS3 is a real cheap POS!
I had the same problem with my R2 button being loose and squeaking, this has happened to both of my DS3s. I might try the Mad Catz wireless controller, since my hands are too big for the DS3.

Looks interesting. I want to keep my controllers charged at all times. But I don't see any wires in this picture, how do you plug it in?
It's got an AC adapter you just plug into the wall, which means you can put it anywhere you want instead of just by the PS3.
I have 5 controllers and most are always charged since it's pretty much just me playing.
I got one of these about a month back and it's really nice. I mostly got it so I would have a place to keep my controllers when I'm not using them instead of just leaving them wherever. I haven't gotten a low battery warning since I got it, which is a good thing.
I have one of these and it works great. The light is red when you plug in your controllers and turns green when they are charged which takes much less time than the usb cable.
This is news?
actually, it is a really nice product, I bought it when it was the Thrustmaster charger or something like that and it is great to keep the controllers charged and ready to go. sure the PS3 can charge the controllers but, does it work when the PS3 is off? and on top of all that it looks really neat. well worth the 15.00 I spent for it.
