Money talks. The "Hitman" movie may have gotten lambasted by critics, but when a film tops $100 million at the box office and rakes in another $80 million in DVD sales, that's a big ol' green light for a sequel.
And because it was so successful, Hollywood producer Adrian Askarieh is not only pursuing another "Hitman" movie but he's also tapping into more Eidos productions, including Just Cause and Kane & Lynch . He talks about all these future projects during a recent GameDaily interview and if you're an action buff, you ought to be psyched. Of course, Askarieh reminds us that he's independently producing the "Just Cause" film so there's no knowing when that might arrive (or how good it will be), but he's calling in the big guns for "Kane & Lynch." It has taken a while, but filming will finally start in March…with Bruce Willis set to star as Kane. That alone should sell tickets. If you're wondering, Timothy Olyphant may or may not return as the "Hitman;" there may be scheduling conflicts as he's in a new television show for FX. They may need a new lead for that and if so, might we suggest either Jason Statham or Vin Diesel? Either would fit the role and perhaps more importantly, give it some real star power.
But who are we to judge? About sixty gajillion people obviously paid money to see that movie so perhaps Askarieh simply needs to pump a movie out that holds to the very same formula, regardless of the cast. Ah well.
when's the new hitman game comes out ?
Still has yet to be determined as far as I know 🙁
Just Cause was an excellent game that flew under the radar, I like it better than GTA by a long shot. Bruce Willis will definately be awesome, my favorite actor, he's a classy guy, plus it would be cool to see Bruce as a bad guy.
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO YEA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
now hopefully they will release a new hitman and kane and lynch game.
hitman has always been a favorite of mine, and kane and lynch was not too bad, definitely could use a sequel.
just cause 2 though im really looking forward to, winching from the ground to a hellicopter?
YES PLEASE!
shame it got pushed back till next year, could of made a massive splash this, but next, well theres no way it can compete with MAFIA 2!
Never played just cause, but as for the movie adaptation i have 3 words,
hippy kayey "mothetrucker",enough said…
Will Buy this on Blu-ray…
as for the hitman movie Vin diesel, would be the best choice,of course if he is not available then we're screwed…

The first Hitman movie was a big letdown. Timothy Olyphant was great in Deadwood but he, in my opinion, wasn't the right choice for Agent 47. I always said Jason Statham should have gotten the part. He looks like 47 and can damn well be physical like him.
i dunno dude i thought they guy looked just like hitman in the movie i luv jason but i dont think he'd be right
am i the only one who liked hitman the movie?
yea it was no the dark night, but i really enjoyed it
i actually liked the hitman movie… it wasn't anything great but, it was good… hollywood doesn't follow games or books right down to every word or scene, we should all know this by now… they build the games environment, and tell their own story with the characters you know…
i thought this was one of the better video game adaptations, right next to silent hill and the first resident evil… i'll be looking forward to the next one… and timothy needs to come back as agent 47… he totally looked the part, perfect casting IMO…
I'm assuming we're talking about worldwide box office gross when it comes to Hitman, right? As far as I remember, it only made a measly $40-million or so domestically (and rightfully so).
Oh god, its started again.
I don't know about your suggestions, Ben (common ones though they may be).
The problem with the 'Hitman' film (for me) wasn't a grand lack of quality, but instead straying much too far from the source material.
And while Vin Diesel and Jason Statham may be a lot closer to 47 in physicality, having either of them in the lead would likely encourage the filmmakers to make the sequel even more of an action epic than it's predecessor and even less the saga of a silent assassin.
well said.
You got it.
It ain't about the stars, its about being true to the source.
Don't think about money, don't think about the man in the suit, just stay true to the idea whilst it translates to film.
They will never get it right and i will never forgive them after mocking Silent Hill.
Holy snappin' crap! I guess all this talk about piracy destroying the film industry is nothing but the complaints of rich people not getting richer as fast as they wanted. If a movie like Hitman can make that kind of money, then maybe Hollywood has to get their heads out of their asses and start making films people actually want to see.
Haha, Bruce Willis should play Agent 47 as well.
Remember when he played the Jackal, and blew off Jack Black's arm with that uber sniper.
How about making a CG movie like Final Fantaysy Advent Children. Forget all those hollywood actors. I'm sick of seen this people earning alot of money that they don't deserve.
