We've seen some evidence before that a sequel is in the works, but the latest big hint is more like an unofficial reveal: according to Examiner.com , voice actor specialist David Sullivan posted the following comment on his Twitter page:
"First voiceover/motion capture audition today for a video game. Re-casting of Cole in the sequel of Infamous. 'I'll melt your face.'"
Now, the link to the relevant Twitter page isn't right but we assume the information is accurate, and if it is, this is all the confirmation we really need. inFamous is one of the most accomplished and entertaining games currently on store shelves and although the developers haven't announced a sequel, most believe that unveiling will be coming soon. Of course, if they're still doing auditions for the production, there's no knowing how far along they are in the development process (probably not far). But that doesn't mean they can't give us a sneak peek early on…right?

One of the best cool super heroes I've seen in a good while!
The first game is freaking crazy and addictive. There's simply so much to do in that game. Which is a great thing for any story based game.
I want a side kick in Infamous 2!

I wonder why they would change Cole's voice actor since he did a great job on the first; unless Cole is a mutant or something in 2.
maybe just getting a different mocap guy?
Maybe the original "Cole" didn't want to come back.
This game lacked a better melee system if they fix that I would buy the sequel day one.

what i think scarecrow is saying is, the game is far more than a melee game! its not dependent on it at all, its much more linear and focus more on the super powers…
i think hes more surprised that youd rather punch someone than use any one of coles powers, and how that changes your perspective on it, especially buying it on day one.
no need to get upset, as i thought the melee system was a little bland i guess, but it definately wasnt horrible, and most definately didnt take anything away from the game, and even more so doesnt change wether or not if i buy the 2nd one!
Yeah I know… but when I play a superhero based game I want awasum melee mechanics and with Infamous is more about long range.
Alot of future PS3 titles seem to be unoffically confirmed these days.
First you have Tourist Trophy 2(which you can tell by some of the new tracks confirmed for GT5), Resistanc 3 and now this.
So many good games coming in 2010, I figure this would do well towards the end of the year or into 2011
hmmm…maybe u get to play as kessler on his way to save/destroy cole, in his rise to power in he first sons etc.
The game sets you up for a sequel so this wasn't unexpected. I'll be damn sure to pick it up day one but im hearing Oxvial on the melee portion it needed to be a tad more fleshed out I felt like it was tacked on but damn its such a small gripe I could care less lol ^_^
Mother of God, this has been game of the year for me so far and I'll buy the second one on the spot.

Re-casting of Cole in the sequel of Infamous.
they're getting someone different to do the voice? well the first guy DID sound like a blender full of gravel but he wasn't that bad. i'm sure the sequal will be brilliant regardless.
i knew they were going to do a sequel to this just a matter of time, considering how infamous ended.
but i hope they dont announce it for a while, being how sony deals with there games they will announce it at E3 next year.
than towards the end of the year probably gamescom they will announce a date, than it will get set back 15 times from that date.
there better off holding back till there months away from release than announce it, that way 1 it will make a bigger splash.
2 no chance for disappointment with release dates, well lower.
3 not as much time for the media to hype this up as the second coming of jesus christ.
thats probably the biggest problem with this industry these days, the media hypes up a game so much so when it comes out im bound to be disappointed.
its happened so much this year.
killzone 2 had so much hype, i was disappointed.
uncharted 2 had so much hype and well dont have it till tomorrow, but 50 bucks says i will be disappointed.
funny, the 3 games i have enjoyed the most this year i was not going to buy.
i was thinking meh there not that good but i had the most fun with them.
infamous i was not hyped for, the media was not hyping it as much as KZ2 or U2 and its my favorite game of this year.
brutal legend i was not going to get, the gameplay just looked boring to me.
but than i went in on the 10th to preorder opperation flashpoint 2 and both that and brutal legend were on the shelf for sale.
so how can i say no to 2 games coming out 5 days before there due release.
and boy am i glad i bought brutal legend its such a fun cartoony game.
opp2 though, i hate it with a flaming passion.
sound is incredible though, IGN do not know what the fu** there going on about!

For the record…. U2 is pretty much the greatest thing I have ever played. This coming from a man who has played just about every game since pong. It will melt your face off bub! Count on it. Oh… and InFamous 2 will kick arse!

Believe that cus this game is by far the best game this gen on any console said not just by me, and one of the best games ive ever played, EVER!
i would like to see a sequal to infamous, when i finished the first one i just a had a suspicion there would be a 2nd, and i wanted it too!

Will look forward to this, first game was great, few areas could be improved with it, but that would just be building on very solid game foundations.
Their is a number of ways the next game could go, would be nice to see the time lines mix between the first and second game.
Man i really hope they come out with a number 2 of this game. This is definitely one of my favorites.
Yes, this is good news. inFAMOUS was the biggest surprise of 2009 for me. I was skeptical about this game but it turned out to be one of my favorite games of 2009. A sequel is indeed warranted.

A sequel was expected and wanted, but I hope they don't feel a rush to make it.
Maybe you won't play as cole in the sequel? maybe he has a minor role?
Is the infamous movie still going ahead?
Good to hear. There's lots they could improve on, though I thought the story, city, and enemy design were top notch.

Maybe next time cole can get a friend that doesn't betray him every chance he gets and a girlfriend that isn't a complete and utter nagging b**ch, makes her ending kinda sweet actually.
I still chip away at the platinum every once in a while.
Got 1! freakin blast shard left and if I manage to stumble upon it I just have to save up to max out the evil grenades and I've got everything.
