First, it was announced that Ratchet and Clank Future: A Crack in Time had gone gold and was confirmed for October 27 in North America and now, Namco Bandai confirms that Tekken 6 is also golden , and will arrive a few days later on October 31. We'll get an arcade stick, Limited Editions, plus a PS3 hardware bundle (for Europe) and if you hadn't already noticed, the game's viral marketing campaign is already in full swing. Said project director Katsuhiro Harada:
"The development team, myself included, have poured heart and soul into the series for 15 years so it is with great excitement that we await the release of the game and seeing it in the hands of the fans. We are also pleasantly surprised at the overwhelming attention the title has received from the media and fans alike. Tekken 6 is the pinnacle of the series and we look forward to the reaction from gamers worldwide once they’ve had a chance to play it."
And no fighter would be complete this generation without a robust online mode, and Namco Bandai has delivered exactly that in this sixth installment. After logging on, you'll be able to participate in Ranked and regular Player matches complete with voice chat functionality, plus enjoy the benefits of full customization for special "ghost characters." Later, a feature that will come with a "post-launch downloadable update" will be the ability to enter two-player online co-op campaigns against AI controlled foes. And of course, you'll always be able to check the online Leaderboards to see where you rank against the world's best. In short, this ain't Tekken from last generation.

Hey, Ben, have you heard any whispers about a follow-up to Soul Calibur 4? You know, something with perhaps a little more of a single player campaign since they got the graphics engine and fighting mechanic so solid already? Just wondering, since with Tekken 6 out of the way, Namco may have the spare dev cycles to look at it now…

My Tekken's on order aswell. It's been that way ever since february 2008 lol…..amazon messed up the release date for it.
yeah, sadly i had to pass on tekken this time around. With limited funds, i cant justify buying tekken, let alone any fighting game anymore. Probably pick this up much later.

I can't wait either, i usually use law, hwoarang eddy or christie. I hope the online will be good, i downloaded tekken 5 DR Online and couldn't go online once, said unable to play for some reason. I'm sure it'll all be fine for tekken 6 though.

Personally I don't really care about the PS3 tekken because in reality because I can rest my head knowing that the arcade version is much superior.

Um, I think you're very wrong there. The PS3 version is not inferior to the arcade version. Did you know that the arcade version of Tekken 6 is running on a PS3 board? Well, it is, the arcade machine that Tekken 6 runs on is a modified PS3 board in an arcade cabinet. The version of Tekken 6 coming to PS3 is essentially the same game engine.

extra stuff maybe, but improvement I think not. In fact I'm willing to bet the console version tekken 6 is based on a old version.
Secondly, do you honestley believe Namco want the console version competing with their arcade moneymaker? The very fact that both Tekken 6BR along with Gundam Vs. Gundam is ranked high clearly say they will not be making a title that competes directly. Essentially it woul be suicide for them. btw, see the arcadia magazine ranking to see excatly what I mean:

Anyhow Namco's entire buiness is based on attracting people arcades not repulse them and for this reason I could see the console version of Tekken 6 deliberately botched in some manner.
