You know that Uncharted 2: Among Thieves arrives on October 13, but we've done our best to remind you that Brutal Legend drops that same day and maybe, just maybe, you'll want both.
Or even if you only want one or the other, you might want to drop in on GameStop during their midnight launch that will celebrate the release of both titles. Over 800 GameStop stores around the country will be holding midnight festivities for Uncharted 2 and Brutal Legend ; we assume it'd be a good idea to arrive a few hours before the clock strikes midnight on October 13. If you want to check if your local GameStop will be participating in the fun, just check the full list ; it's likely you live near a location that will indulge you. For the record, pre-ordering either of these games gets you an added bonus: for Uncharted 2 , you'll get an exclusive in-game Revenge Attribute Bonus that allows the player to utilize this booster right from the start during the online multiplayer portion. If you pre-order Tim Schafer and Double Fine's latest, you'll get an exclusive Tenacious D guitar/weapon that will not only have a unique cosmetic look, but it'll also boast singular sound effects, a new visual effects suite, and new voiceover work from Jack Black. As usual, October is shaping up to be a big month so why not join in early? You got nothing else to do on a Monday night…right?
You've already seen our review of Uncharted 2 – pretty damn good, no? – and you can expect our analysis of Brutal Legend not long after the game hits store shelves.
Related Game(s): Uncharted 2: Among Thieves , Brutal Legend
I preordered Brutal Legend at gamestop for the exclusive goodies and U2 at Amazon because I want the treasure map. I look forward to the BL review.
Whats the point of map thing from amazon. just looked at it and it said that they give it to you about 10 days after game is released. Im sure someone will have a FAQ out in less time if you're going after all the treasures.
collector's item?
I'll collect the treasures when I play the game again because Im sure I'll be more interested in the story than collecting treasures.
2 major titles in one night…. sounds hectic to say the least.
Why not visit Gamestop?
Because they're garbage
I will never buy a game from that freaking store lol
In fact, I haven't bought a game there in YEARS, probably one or two the last 8+ years.
That said, will get Uncharted 2 at a local store.
why do you hate them ? because they like money ?
well.. they did close down a lot of the moms and pops game stores as well as buying out their rival(eb games)becoming a form of monopoly in the industry. in a way, they are a good business minded, successful company, or, they are another evil corporation trying to get as much money out of the consumers as possible.
but i still like and shop at gamestop. they do have a good business plan. their employees need better training cuz they dont know their own company policies, or/and they dont know what their talking about when they talk about games.

Wow, Gamestop, (when it was Funcoland), was a pretty decent store. Then Barnes and Noble bought them, changed the name, merged it with EB, and we have the monopoly there is today. Customer service used to be a priority for the store, but when you are the only game in town, it falls off the list of important details.
There are at least three mom and pops that are still around, (one of them is only a year old), and they all specialize in old and new games. These stores keep the hardcore gamers happy, and have built a solid fanbase. Gamestop only goes back to, what, PS1? When is the last time you saw Nintendo 8-bit, Genesis, Dreamcast, etc. games at Gamestop? There are people out there who still play these games. Fortunately for the mom and pop's, Gamestop doesn't feel these titles are economically viable. Their shortsighted business practices are the only thing keeping the smaller guys alive right now …. because unfortunately, when it comes down to it, most people will trade loyalty and morality for cheaper prices.
I will always support the little guy. But then again, I am a bull-headed idealist.
theres not really anything wrong with game stop!
If your mad cus they supposably shut down mom and pop game stores thats dumb. If you owned a business your telling me that you'd want other stores around? competition is great and all but the more customors the marrier.
Gamestop has midnight releases, they always have the game in or at your door step day of release if you order with same day shipping, if your on their mailing list they have incentives galore like trade in bonuses, buy two used get one free deals, etc. etc. i see no harm in them except that they sell used games at a rip off price and maybe dont give you what you feel your most beloved game is really worth.
Point is ive ran into stores like best buy, and play-n-trade, where i reserved COD:MW and army of two and they dont show up for 2 days after the release, you know how aggrivating it is to walk into gamestop ask if they have any copies left after being failed by two other large companies and they say should have pre-ordered with us cus that guy in front of you walked out with the last copy of COD:MW, its more aggrivating than, well, alot of things!
And im in oregon and the gamestop here sells older games from older systems as well(genesis, snes), and even though i just sold out play-n-trade they do also here in oregon! its not just the mom and pop stores so expand your horizons a lil bit ;)! On the flip side of that though you will find those older games for older systems way cheaper on ebay and most dont even ask you pay shipping, than that in a local smaller store. so if you can wait a day or two for shipping which you obviously can since youve waited thus long, if you still dont have that specific game, then it may not be worth it in gas these days to drive 4 miles into town to the nearest local game store ;)!
Bottom line Gamestop has done no harm and do alot more for gaming! It's a store they sell games, its not a PRISON!

Those "evil corperations" create jobs with that money we willingly give them.
My only problem with gamestop is they over charge for used games and they don't clean up the discs. Also money that spent there is money the developers aren't getting. I only buy games new there cause it's close and convienient.
reading through all the comments it seems everyone hates gamestop lol so i wont stick up for it any more cus i wont win. i understand why some hate it so agree to disagree.
But gamestop always has my game instock and on time so i cant complain too much cus thats all i ask really!
I dont do much trading i have a hard time giving up my games, and if i buy a used game its cus its worth the price or im low on cash, the other 90% of the time i buy new!

I have sworn them off because they tend to sell games as new that have been opened. If the inevitable finger prints weren't enough, there is is that super sticky sticker they use to seal a 'new' game they have opened that leaves a residue that never comes off.
I buy games from Amazon pretty much exclusively these days as they always have it in stock and they tend to be cheaper including shipping.
Gutting is a perfectly reasonable procedure to keep things from being stolen and sometimes to even make sure the discs are intact, fingerprints (especially on blu-ray) isn't going to ruin the game. also and they don't use it on every single game, there are quite a few that are still completely unopened, but that's really only if you preorder and get them asap before they have to put empty boxes on the shelf.
@ LegendaryWolfeh – Ok… but why take that risk when any other retailer has the same if not better prices and you are guaranteed to have a new unopened game? Doesn't make sense unless there's no Best Buy or WalMart in your town.
and at bestbuy you get points you can use for new games
There's no Best Buy in my town, but if there's anything I dislike more than GameStop, it's Wal-mart. I like how people complain about Gamestop putting the mom and pop's stores out of business and how they're monoplizing, but then go shop at walmart 😉 And that might be fine for other people, but I always preorder games I want so I'm always assured an unopened game. But it's just up to peoples choice on where they buy it, hell screw brick and mortar if you really want assurance just go with amazon.com or something.
Well I was kind of pissed after my visit to Gamestop yesterday. I went in to pay for my copy of Uncharted and asked if there was going to be a midnight launch. The manager said yes but its just a little one, not a big party or anything like for Halo. Then he said he only decided to have one since Brutal Legend was coming out that day as well and he himself wanted it at Midnight.
sounds like another biased game store manager. I'm luck my local gamestop manager is a ps3 fanatic, so I don't have to hear him tell me how I should get the 360 version like I have had others do
your complaining about that?
seriously?
you have any idea how much it would cost them to open at midnight?
by law they would have to pay every employee there double time, and have to make sure its ok with the complex managers.
i hate gamestop as much as the next guy but this gamestop hate PS3 mentality is just BS!
Already finished U2, not to sure about Brutal Legend, played the demo but wasn't all that impressed.
Asides from a few chuckles here and there, I was pretty unimpressed with the Brutal Legend demo. The game-play felt very meh.

@Draven71
I personally have finished GT5, Modern Warfare 2, R&C: A Crack In Time, and Assassins Creed 2…
All you guys should just believe me cause I said so, proof is for losers…
@ ThePearlJammer
Well if he went to one of the theater showings of UC2 he could have already beat the game. Everyone who went got copies of it. I was going to go but then decided that I didn't want to learn more about the game until i could play it. Man that was a bad decision.
I traded in two old games and have to pay $0.25 when getting on the 14th over here, different deals at GameStop over here in Norway I guess.
Did the same with Assassin's Creed 2. =)
Ah ____ me side ways! I thought the 13th was Monday. I'll have to wait another day to play U2.
*sigh*
I'm guessing ____ stands for tickle?
I can't wait. My copy of Demon's Souls will be arriving that day also. It's going to be a long night.
actually, i do have better things to do… gamestop suckered me into going to the GTAIV midnight launch and it was… boring… plus, unless i was taking tuesday off from work, i would only be able to get in maybe an hour or two of gaming before i went to bed… what's the point when i can get off work on tuesday and spend all evening playing… seriously, it's not like you'll unlock a secret trophy for playing it early…
these midnight launches are silly if you ask me… but you didn't so, i'll just tell you…
I was there for the MGS4 midnight launch. Dont care about the party, as long as i get my game. And thanks to this damn economy, i can play the game for a while after the midnight launch.
I actually have to admit I wouldn't shop at gamestop for atleast six years, I was using game crazy until an employing questioned me about my ps3 purchase. But now I only sale games I buy on ebay to gamestop, so usaully I break even or lose no more than five to ten dollars. I almost bought madden 2010 just because I would have made money on it but I got out bid, even still I only trade games in if they have that get twentyfive percent more when you trade in for pre orders.
my gamestop sucks ballzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. its in the mall and they arent allowed to do midnight releases anymore!
there has to be another location, i see a lot of gamestops here…well it it vegas.
did you know that it can be bought at walmart at midnight also?, but at walmart there isn't any douchebag xbots!
is that a problem?
yea, that's what sucked about standing in line at midnight for GTAIV… i had to hear the fanboy comments all night… "the PS3 looks like a grill!!"… these 3 black guys were standing in line right behind me and they started bashing the xbox and the crazy white boys who were acting like little kids… lol, no one wanted to comment back, it was hilarious, like they were scared or something, lol… talking with them was the only saving grace of that night, the rest of it was boring and useless…
i'll never go to another midnight launch again…
i'm lucky enough to still have a game store in my town not labeled gamestop or gamecrazy, which we have both of by the way… topp's trade center has been around since i was a kid :)… but, they sell used magic cards, baseball cards, movies, electronics and other things as well…
it's the only place in town i can still get retro games from… games for the 64 and gameboy's… i always get the "WTF" treatment when i mention PS1 or 64 games in gamestop… lol, i always ask someone i know i haven't asked before… they treat me like i'm an inferior or an idiot… it's funny, you should try it at least once…
Yeah, its pretty funny when i needed a N64 controller cause i needed 4 to play the old smash bros with friends. guy pointed me to the wii rack. his boss came in and said they didnt have any. after i walked around a bit, saw 1 behind a ps2 controller.
As for gamecrazys, every gamecrazy store i know in vegas are disappearing, i guess its only natural since their employees are even more clueless than gamestop.
Woot, can't wait, didn't think my gamestop was gonna have one, gonna cally Billy (ouy gs's manager, yes we're on a first name basis and i have his psn ;D ) and see if they're having one, lol.
Personally, I am taking an early lunch on Tuesday the 13th, and driving to toys r us to be there at 10am when they open. Picking up Uncharted 2, Demons souls, and because of the buy 2 get 1 free coupon coming out in this sunday paper, I will get Brutal legend for free!! Sounds like a deal to me.
i want to do that too but then that means i gotta get another 60 bucks to use that deal.
I do want both, but i can only afford Uncharted 2.
i am thinking that i will pick up both of these games. i will probably go to best buy to get the reward points. i plan on getting a few things from there so i want it to add up. i am still playing batman and wont have the money for these 2 til next thursday. i figure by next week i will be done with batman and can move on to both of those.
im kind of glad i got laid off right now! so many games to play!
look sliek everyone kinda disagrees wiith the guy but hey gamestop is alright it's always got the game in stock but some times they overprice some of their stuff
Good ole Uncharted 2 will be enough for me. Downloaded the demo for Brutal Legend but it doesn't compare.
since the gamestop i reserved it at isnt included, demon's souls will keep me occupied 🙂
I'm playing demon' souls and have mixed feelings. I need to play more and then make a judgement. Uncharted2 no doubt it will be epic. Not buying it at gamestop. Brutal Legend looks pathetic to me. Not ever consider buying it.
dam the 15th is going to be one fu**ing busy day.
NGS2,opperation flashpoint dragon rising, brutal ledgend,SAW and uncharted 2 will be sitting on my shelf.
now how the %$#^am i suppose to finish 5 games in 20 days in time for R&C ACIT.
guess i wont be finishing NGS2 for a while, that game is fu**ing hard!
i wished they washed it down a little from g2 to s2, gaiden was to hard and had to many boss battles.
so what do they do?
they add MORE boss battles making the game HARDER!
thats logic for ya!
Flashpoint's already released, haha as well as SAW, why wait? get them now before uncharted 2 so you can at least have the temptation to play them.
not where i live in OZ.
were not getting saw, at all has not been submitted for clasification.
they must of not bothered because they knew it would get banned, huh dont blame them.
opp does not release till the 15th here also.
