At first, I sorta rolled my eyes and spluttered; "oh, what…it…man, this is…jeez…" But then, I remembered what it might have been like to see a Coke can with an ad for a video game on it 25 year ago. …I would've fallen over dead.
Yes, the industry really has made great strides over the past few decades, and it's basically a mainstream entertainment venue at this point. Want further proof? What you're looking at here is the new Modern Warfare 2 -themed Monster energy drink. As revealed over at YOURemgn , these specially labeled drinks will get you into a drawing where you could feasibly win all sorts of goodies. This includes a copy of the game in question, download codes for the first available Map Pack, and we're assuming…um…money? Who knows what else might be winnable? On each can, you will read the words: "Creator Infinity Ward hooked us up with an advanced copy of MW2 and we were so stoked on the game we put it on our can." If you want to purchase a Sam's Club exclusive 6-pack, you'll get access to the new Combat Training Experience for Modern Warfare 2 , which is an upcoming online event hosted by the developers. Well, we figure you'll need the extra energy when you go all night on November 10, right?
This reminds us of the energy drink the Japanese will receive that celebrates the launch of Final Fantasy XIII . This is cool and all, but I think the last thing we need are more people sitting still and ingesting more caffeine.

oh i bet this isnt the only thing they will do this with.
Man that's just as lame as the Halo3 energy drink. Too cheesy for my taste.
But that was Mountain Dew, which is awesome 🙂
thats cool do bad i dont like energy drink
It is a shame monster is the only energy drink that gives me a head ach
O great like we needed more MW2 advertising.
im not watching TV all throughout november to december because i know whats going to be on.
oh man now they really r milking mw2
Milking MW2.. like a cat.
You can milk anything with nipples…
lol, and since Activision is run by one humongous boob, you can milk the crap out of anything from them.
i know this game will be good but if they keep hyping the game it might be a bit of a disappointment when you get it. HIGHER expectations means a HIGHER chance of disappointment!

yeh thats what i was thinking i mean icant wait for it but for the luv of god give the hype a rest
This is bad news for MW2. If the dev has to make a drink to hype a game (Halo) it's always a sign that game is going to be bad. I bet that MW2 is going to be a short almost crapy SP and a heavy aim-asist twitch MP.
Monster sponsor loads of people. I don't see the problem with this.
When Dr.Pepper sponsored MLG and the Pro Gamers, I didn't hear anyone crying over it.
I think most people just hate Activision for all the hype. It's their game, they can do what they like. If you have no interest in Activision or CoD then don't buy the drink, don't buy the game, turn the channel when you see an ad and lastly, just totally IGNORE all these articles.
Whell making a drink for a game is just about the biggest type of hype a game can get. And it is (to me at least) seen as a huge warning to informed gamers. When Halo got the mountain dew drink (tasted like crap just like the WoW ones) the hype went through the roof. Then when the game came out the SP wasn't good at all and the MP was nothing new.
I don't see this good at all. The videos of MW2 Iv seen almost confirms this. The game will sell like mad on the hype and then when people see the truth it won't end good. But this is just my opinion of a twitch shooter. Id also say that there is a good bit of aim-asist in there, but now Im just ranting. I'll shut up for my own good now. Just ignore me when I rant on about stuff, I tend to over type a lot.
whos crying over it?
How will this fare with the Elixir?
When I think of Halo or COD, I think of sugared up teenagers, yelling antisemitic, homophobic, and racial slurs. Maybe the disgusting amounts of sugar in these drink is to blame?
lol
Well I drink sugary-caffeine drinks and am not like that, but I'm certain that it acts as a catalyst in those that are. Then again, I'm not a teenager either (thankfully).
