To take a few words from the immortal Queen- "another one bites the dust." Well…maybe.
More than a few promising titles have been pushed into 2010 and while most have jumped ship so as not to tangle with blockbusters like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Uncharted 2: Among Thieves , some have had legitimate problems. Perhaps the latter is the root cause of Alpha Protocol 's delay. We haven't heard an official announcement from either developer Obsidian Entertainment or publisher Sega but as Joystiq points out, GameStop has pushed "The Espionage RPG" all the way into June of next year. Amazon Canada is also now showing a 2010 date. Oddly enough, US sources still list the game as having an October 6 launch date, which means it would hit store shelves next week alongside the much-anticipated Demon's Souls . This may still be true but we get the sneaking suspicion that Amazon US and others are just tardy to the party; we haven't heard much about Alpha Protocol in the past few weeks. And for a game that's supposed to release next week, that's usually not a good sign.
But you never know. If it really is delayed, this only leaves Demon's Souls , although there's nothing wrong with that. BioWare's Dragon Age: Origins should be out in October as well, but we've heard the PS3 version has been pushed out further, so… RPG fans may only have Atlus to turn to.
