Bayonetta Set For January 5, Collectors Edition Confirmed?

Leaked notes from an August 5 SCEA/Sega meeting have already turned us onto the very real possibility of PS2 and even Dreamcast games showing up on the PS3 , but that's not the only news gleaned from the leaked documentation.

As noted by ConnectedConsoles , another portion of those notes included the expected release date for Bayonetta , which was unfortunately delayed until 2010. Well, it may not launch this year but if this information is accurate, you won't have to wait long: Sega intends to release a demo to the PlayStation Network around Christmas and the game should be available on store shelves on January 5. They're even planning to give the fans a special Collectors Edition with a sweet Bayonetta action figure, although we don't have the full details just yet. In fact, since the documentation has disappeared off the Internet and both SCEA and Sega have remained silent, just about everything involved in that meeting remains unofficial. But if this hot action title is indeed slated for the 5th of January, that's great news; it avoids the holiday rush and much of the impending Q1 blockbusters (previously delayed due to the Q4 2009 crunch). Besides, we're definitely in need of a fast-action slashfest, even though Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 definitely fits the bill; you'll be seeing a review some time soon.

We expect to hear the official information within the next month and it may actually arrive in a few days time at the Tokyo Game Show. That'd be an announcement worth listening to, in your opinion.

Jan.5 would be great. I hope the collector's edition includes a artbook. Can't wait for the demo.

Can't wait for the demo! Im tired of cocky male protagonists shoving there d**ks down everyones throat like they are the only thing capable of fighting a battles! And to completely discredit that statement I say damn a sweet rack like that will look good under my control!

Action figure? Ok well is that don't beat all… how old do they think we are anyway? I get it collecting knick knacks is kewl and I aint one to argue with sexy that you can carry in your pocket but at what point do devs think anyone playing bayonetta was young enough for an "action figure" more like still japanese witch barbie if you ask me ^_^

Skip the action figure and just worry about giving us a high quality game, and not some second-rate Xbox port.

I was considering this game but then I discovered an article saying Platinum Games passed of the PS3 version to SEGA to make a port. So now I won't buy it, its completely unacceptable. If your to develop a game do it for both major consoles. Man I was pretty mad about that, but an easy solution is not buying that rubbish. I'm already uneasy about buying Multiplat because the PS3 exclusives I buy are soooo good.

I don't blame you for feeling that way, but most multiplatform games nowadays are just fine on the PS3. In regards to Bayonetta, who knows, but I would wait until TGS before you get really worried about the game. If it still is a crappy port at TGS, then maybe it's time to worry. I'm still holding out hope because I've been really looking forward to this game.
