Blur has just streaked on by without stopping at its original destination; it has now joined the swelling ranks of titles delayed until next year.
Activision has announced that Bizarre Creations simply isn't done with this promising racing title and it will miss its November 3 release date. Unlike other delayed games, this has nothing to do with the holiday competition; it seems development is just behind so now, the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC versions are due some time in 2010. Activision says the designers will be using this added time to fine-tune the game's online multiplayer component, which will allow up to 20 cars racing at one time. In all, the game will boast over 50 licensed cars plus real-world racetracks, so it should be a definite purchase consideration for those who like this style (ala Burnout ). And in all honesty, while we definitely want a shot at Blur , we'll be plenty busy enough with all the titles that are slated to drop within the next few months. Besides, we're not supporters of the idea that a publisher should rush out a game just to have it on store shelves; if the devs need more time, give it to 'em. We're patient. We can wait. We'd much rather have a good game later than a mediocre game now.
Activision is banking on that same philosophy it seems, so Bizarre Creations now has ample time to get everything right. Let's hope they don't waste the extra weeks (or months).
Related Game(s): Blur
They have enough time. But the first months of 2010 are gonna be really busy with all the good blockbuster realeases coming up. if only every developer took that philophy when making the games. Too bad some mediocre games fill the gaps left by the good ones.
GT5 and NFS Shift will quench my racing thirst. I'm blurring Kotick's game from my 'wish list'
Agreed.
+1 for awesome reference.
<sarcasm> *gasp* Oh no! How will I ever get to play this innovative Activision title?

Is this Activision game going to be on consoles or will I need to buy a car to play it?
Yes, it will be a plastic car that Bobby Kotick/Activision can "make a 25-50% operating margin" on. Oh, and you will also have a strange feeling of âscepticism, pessimism, and fearâ while playing the game.
And…don't forget Bizarre Creations WILL NOT have any fun making this game.
Is it just me or does 50 licenced cars sound small??
Yea i was thinking the same thing. Compared to is it 700 cars in GT5 or are my facts wrong?
Well, I called it in my hands-on preview. The game was definitely not ready to be shipped, as it looked early and not very pretty. Plus it felt too barebones.
50 cars? I think developers should take a page from the GT series…add more cars!
Around about 40 is fine for Supercar Challenge, but not this isn't this game a arcade racer or something but anyway its just a shadow of Ridge Racer 7

lol….when this is released..Activision(Mr Kotic) will say ohh…you need to buy this fake car that feels like it was worth a £10…just like the are that other game we sell 🙂
I though, "Oh, another game like Burnout? Cool." Then I realized it was Activision. No thanks.
With apologies to Bizarre Creations for all their work, but this will only make it into my PS3 as a rental…MAYBE!
Push it out as FAR as you want Bobby K. cause you and Acti are not getting my money.

i think its a good thing as the could have a bigger beta testing phase, look at getting in some more car and instead of a fake twitter mechanic actually put a real twitter mechanic into the game. still one to watch but i have a feeling that it my now be a case of where it's going head to head with split second which is looking sweeter the more i see of it.
I can careless if they ever release this game. Activision doesn't have alot fans in this site :0
Who cares ?
agreed….can't care less….
not interested….
I am desperate for a decent open wheel racer, or decent Formula 1 racing simulator. Console races in general have fallen short of the mark. I think CodeMasters' Ego Engine does a good job in making Dirt and Grid look pretty; and they are fun to play, for a while anyway.
GT5 is the closest to a simulation; but I worry the accidents/damage model won't be realistic enough because of the car licensing issues… and then there has been the difficulty of getting a really decent Formula 1 game out and playable.
There doesn't seem to be a decent american open wheel racer… what happened to Indy 500; and as for Nascar, well they keep on try'n.
Not very interested in Blur either at the minute!
Q!
"i am home"

I dunno…. I think I might give this one a skip anyway. Once I get GT5 I won't need another racer for at least 2 years… It's just gonna be that big/good. I'm also holding out on NFS:Shift until I hear more on GT5's release date. (The confirmed one in my country) If that is still some time away I might pick up Shift in the meantime.
But any racing game coming out after GT5 I will have almost no interest in unless it can overshadow GT5 and that ain't gonna happen…
What if a new PC sim gets released?
They have the highest chances of beating Gran Turismo, again. ^_^
Yusss, one less game I have to feel sorry for.
and another one bites the dust!
O god i hope queen dont have copyright on that otherwise im going to owe them a hell of allot of money.
i guess 2009 is the best year for gaming, thats if you love games being delayed.
ive been told you can pick up weapons and use them against your enemies like in crash team racing.
is that true?
hope so, i love those styled games and wished we had more.
fatal exteria is the best game of the PSN store.
I have not been too impressed by what I have seen of this title to date, yes it does have weapons and other types of power ups.
