Don't forget: Street Fighter IV is one of the best games of the year, and after returning the long-running franchise to its former glory, everyone was instantly pining for Street Fighter V .
After talks for SFIV on the Wii evidently fizzled, NintendoEverything says they translated a new message at the official SVIV blog , and it says news on a sequel is headed our way. Natsuki Shiozawa reveals that Capcom will have an announcement to this effect "very soon," and it's possible Capcom may unveil the sequel at the Tokyo Game Show at the end of the month. The game sold very well and now that the developers have proved they can produce one hell of an experience, by all rights, a sequel should be almost inevitable. It seems that Street Fighter – as a franchise – could be legitimate competition to the likes of Namco's Tekken; Tekken 6 still hasn't released, but it's bound to turn plenty of heads. And if Capcom is quick to announce a sequel to SFIV, fighting fans everywhere should be happy with the selection on store shelves. We'll have to wait and see what happens at TGS (Capcom has other stuff to talk about), but in the meantime, SFIV fans should just wait as patiently as possible.
Our only suggestion would be to not make SFV as cripplingly difficult when it comes to certain lame repeating moves on the part of your opponent. …but we're certain all the hardcore masters out there will only laugh at that request.
Related Game(s): Street Fighter IV
Well, 5 does come after 4……
Brilliant post, sir.
I didn't play SF4 or even much of the older versions, but I'm sure this makes plenty of people happy.
yet 4 was based before 3?
Correction:
SFIV was based after SFII
SFIII doesn't factor into SFIV (minus possible SFIII characters)
On its own though, it doesn't factor with SFIII, as it stands.
By the way, the SF sequel they're talking 'bout is SFIV: Dash
Just like Alpha3 was the sequel to Alpha2.
The proper term would be "mini-sequel"
It's know around the SF community, in which I'm a bit part of that it's not SFV
SFV is believed to come out in some 3 to 4 years down the line.
What I don't get is why did Wii fanboys want this game on the Wii? Waggle + Street Fighter 4 = disaster. And good luck getting a match going with friend codes. God just buy a PS3!
Anyways, I'm hella stoked about this. But I really think it would be wise of Capcom to release a sequel sometime next year. Tekken is just way too popular. Some new character DLC will suffice if you ask me. Either way, I'm getting it.
I agree, fighting games + wii just doesnt mix. given that smash bros isnt really a fighting, more of a party game. All i know is i tried bleach shattered blades and it was crap. You spend the whole time wagging the controller and it got old. I'm hoping tatsunoko vs capcom fares better though.
Street Fighter vs Mortal Kombat, exclusive for the PS3.
Street Fighter IV Alpha Beta Omega, LOL
you forgot super turbo championship hd
lol, so Street Fighter IV Turbo Alpha Beta Omega Championship HD!!!!!!!!!!
Gimmie Tekken 6
I'd rather have an hd remake of street fighter 3
SF3 is perfect as is
I mean like they did for 2
let one game shine a little longer before another comes out, please!!!
It's those "certain lame repeating moves" that keep many coming back for more. You can't be lactose intolerant and play fighters…
i dont think the game was difficult, it was cheap….well at least only the last boss seth is. I could handle playing against the other characters fine but seth is just crazy. I wonder if anyone got the trophy for beating gouken on the hardest difficulty. I think that goal is impossible for me just because of seth. Any idea if they're planning to patch the game to fix seth?
I've got that trophy. Actually there are some holes in the AI you can exploit. Try using Ryu or Ken and do this: Forward Throw > Fully charged focus attack. The AI is dumb and almost never registers the correct response. They'll just get hit over and over by that little trick. You could also use Zangief and use his Lariat attack (3 Punches), just use that one move with him.
I personally don't find Seth cheap for a couple of reasons. Mainly his defense is terrible and virtually every character can perform a stun combo against him. He's really easy once you get an offense going on him. But if you really want to get the trophy, try using the "exploits" I mentioned.
WHAT?! WHAAAT?! This information comes from NINTENDOeverything??? HAHAHAHA!
Since when does Nintendo care about next gen games?
Too soon.
Didn't care for 4 so shall not be bothered by 5. Tekken 6 and Virtua Fighter 6 will be out soon VF 6 announced soon (ish maybe) but deffo tekken 6 is soon anyway 🙂
I dont even play my street fighter anymore
and what were they thinking when they made rufus?
They were thinking about Twinkies?
SF IV was overrated. The graphics weren't great, the pre-match-up art was horrible and it was very boring. I played it a bit and it's been sitting in the drawer. I wonder what they'll do with V.
SFIV did get boring quick. Online match up system needs refining too. I hate how Capcoms match up system works. The graphics I did like. I liked the water color brushed look it has. Game play seemed much the same. SF has and probably always will be my favorite fighter but I agree IV wasn't anything special. For me it may never be better than Street Fighter II Turbo Hyper Fighting on the SNES.
fluffer nutter & jawknee, I couldn't agree more.
SFIV is highly overrated! I loved the graphics very much but aside that, game modes and the gameplay got boring quick and highly repetitive.
All these arguments as to why it was bad is like saying that Metal Gear Solid 4 sucked because:
-The gameplay was the same as MGS3
-The online system sucked since you had to subscribe through Konami's site
Or that Tekken sucks because the gameplay is exactly the same with the same characters and the modes are the same as in all Tekken games
Or that Virtua Fighter sucks (best 3D fighter, period) because the modes are all the same as in previous VF games. And because the gameplay's the same
Ooooooooooooooooooooh so then Soul Calibur sucks too because it's the same crap with seen in Soul Calibur II and III
^And its online system is worse than SFIV's
PS: What fighters do you all actually consider better than SFIV this generation? I'd like to know them
The gameplay was very boring and got old very quick. It wasn't a "fun" game. You fight once, then you've fought twice, then you fought again and it was the same over and over and over. Very lacklustre.
Well Scarecrow, I like Soul Calibur IV
Defensive much Sacrecrow? Lol. I didn't hate SFIV. it just wasn't anything special is all. As for any better fighters? Well their hasn't really been any good fighters this gen. Soul Calibur 4 maybe better when it comes to gameplay buy I liked the art direction in SFIV better.
@fluffer,
Do you know the definition of a "reason?"
I could say you as a person are boring as hell. And by your logic I wouldn't need to back that up.
You're boring, period :3
Awesome making claims without reason!
@www,
Check out psxe's reviews on both games
SCIV: 8.8
SFIV: 9.4
@jawknee,
Anything special because you say so? Or rather, you just don't like fighting games at all?
To have Virtua Fighter 5 and Super Smash Bros Brawl right in your face and claim there hasn't been great fighting games this gen shows your lack knowledge and interest in the fighting genre.
And not defensive, ignorance/false claims are not to be taken lightly.

Obviosily when I say "I didn't think it was anything special" it's a statement of opinion.
I just saw the comments and had to laugh. I'm glad I go outside everyday. My reason for finding the game boring is that I've played the different versions of this game since they came out many, many years ago. The game isn't exciting and that is my opinion. No need to go into detail as the game itself doesn't warrant it.
what? 5 already? what about Street Fighter IV Championship Edition, or maybe Super Steet Fighter IV Turbo World Warrior Championship All Stars? They really need to tack on alot of slightly upgraded versions with increasingly longer names before going on to a whole new number.
DLC would be a better option.
There already is DLC and it's waaaaaaay over priced. Crap too. $12.99 for alternate costumes. Rip off!
Lol yeah. SFV would be a rip off too since they probably just add hyper mode and 2 additional characters.
The Alternative costumes are optional
Want them, pay for 'em
Don't want them, don't pay for 'em
It's not gonna change the gameplay
It's for those who actually want alternative costumes
We understand we don't have to buy them. The point he was making was DLC would we fine instead of a other game and I was trying to make the point that Capcoms attempt at good valued DLC has thus far been an epic fail. Not just for SFIV.
This is your problem jawknee: You make claims on something you now NOTHING 'bout
First of all: You used SFIV as an example and yet you say you didn't mean to?
Second of all: If you add more things to SFIV such as characters as DLC you'll alienate the fan base. Some will have these characters, some will not. It makes it an unfair playing field. It's like having all the guns available to you in an online FPS and only having half of them. Fair?
That's why a disc release is truly the only option.
Okay scarecrow, your nerd rage is starting to take over. Your taking what I say a little too personal. Relax. No reason to get worked up cause I don't agree with you. 😉
No,
You didn't say "I didn't think it was anything special"
You said "it just wasn't anything special is all."
Crap, posted that under the wrong message
So now being well informed is being a nerd?
Better than being a dumb ignorant
I didn't point out the nerd rage because your informed, but because your getting way too defensive over a game. Stop calling people names because they have a different opinion then you. Were all friendly here. Need too to whip out the "your ignorant" card. Word?
Very nice,
So not only were you the first one to call anyone here names. But then you make it seem as if I'm hurting you
I was pointing out that the DLC just like in any or most games are optional. If one doesn't like the price one can always walk away from it.
I've seen DLC in LBP I didn't like, I walk away from it. Doesn't mean the game sucks
You said i was ignorant for not agreeing with you. That's pretty lame.
I still haven't bought SF4 I've been so out of touch with gaming lately I just don't have much time anymore now that I'm working again
Haha don't worry, I know how it feels, wish you had a job like Ben, but even him doesn't have much time on his hands, he still hasn't played RE5 you know, so I guess work is work, at least your getting paid.
Very "hardcore pro" game. Once again Street Fighter milked to the world. I hope when it dies out.. it doesn't come back.
So you're into the dial-a-combo games with tits bouncing all over the place?
1 2 3: combo!
5 9 4 9: combo!
364645754676764: FULL LIFE COMBO!
*cough* Tekken
