We're closing in on the one-year anniversary of Fallout 3 and to celebrate, Bethesda Softworks plans to release a special Game of the Year edition .
This will go on sale on October 13 for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC; it will boast all five expansion packs that were previously released for the 360 and PC in one package. However, if you're a PS3 owner and you already have Fallout 3 , you can start downloading that DLC next Thursday, September 24. Next week will get you Broken Steel, which raises the level cap to 30 and extends the game's storyline, and then on October 1, you'll get Operation Anchorage and The Pitt. Last but not least comes the final two DLC packs – Mothership Zeta and Point Lookout – on October 8, so PS3 owners won't have to miss out on any of the extras. RPG fans who have played Fallout 3 on the PS3 have complained about Bethesda's apparent ignorance of their existence; the publisher will be the first to tell you it's not about bias or console preference, though. Therefore, just be happy that you will soon have access to all the DLC that has heretofore been available for the 360 and PC versions of the game. No complaining, m'kay?
If you haven't yet had the pleasure, Fallout 3 remains one of the best games of the generation and arguably one of the best RPGs of all time.
