Bayonetta was one of several games to slip out of 2009 in an effort to avoid the potentially sales-crushing blockbusters for this holiday season.
Remember, the game is still scheduled to launch in Japan in October, but the powers that be thought it'd make more sense to steer clear of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Uncharted 2: Among Thieves , both of which are likely to be far more popular in North America. But wouldn't you want a shot at this girl-power creation before the launch? Well, according to GameSpot citing Andriasang, producer Yusuke Hashimoto has said Platinum is "currently hard at work" on a playable demo. The interesting part is that it seems they'll be putting a bunch of extra effort into this demo; as Hashimoto said:
"It will be more than just a demo that's pulled from the middle of the game. We'd like to make it so that those who've already bought the game will make new discoveries if they play the demo."
We don't know if this demo will get a worldwide release; it may not with the game delayed until next year in North America. But we're hoping we'll get a sneak peek at this one before the year is out, and we think it's a very intriguing idea to have a demo that everyone – even those who own the game – will want to play. Most times, demos really are just pieces of the actual game, but what if they were fresh and entirely original sections of gameplay content…? Wouldn't that be more enticing for everyone involved?

Well, I have a Japanese PSN account so when the demo arrives, I can download it from there.
I have always said demos should be their own experience and not a slice of the game because that is how you can say "Okay this is what the game is about" and not put people off. Heavy Rain really needs to do that as well, or it won't help anyone.
I'm looking forward to trying the demo because I have been skeptical about this title's appeal.
I completely agree. If I want to demo Skate, I should be able to download Madden and base judgement on that.

I want to try this demo also, I'm hoping it's different than DMC in a number of ways. If so, they may end up persuading me to make a purchase.

You know there's a Skate 2 out that's an improvement over the first.

How the heck are you gonna demo a game so different? It'll be like someone showing you 3mins of a 8hr movie and then asking you for $60.

Good, the incentive for this game will soon arrive.
Yeah were going to need those JP accounts because Sega America commented to Joystiq that they have no word on if the demo will be making its way to the US PSN/XBLA before or after the games NA release
Not really sure about this game, it looks a lot like DMC. But i really want to try it without spending $60.
The best game demo I played was Medal Of Honor Frontline for the ps2. It sold the game to me, but I never finish it. Demos Let u experience the game.I hope this game doesn't ignore ps3 gamers by giving $$$$$ exclusives.
According to 1UP, PS3 version is still far from polished. Are we going to get yet another 3rd party lack-luster title again. I still hoping they get it right. If it's anything like the DMC titles it should be a must buy for me.
Kotaku reports that the demo for Bayonetta for the PS3 is falling again in the "poor-ports" division.
