Ben-DutkaThanks to an eagle-eyed reader, we were the first to break the news that a special Blu-Ray God of War package might be headed to the PlayStation 3 later this year.
Well…it's all true. As revealed over at the PlayStation Blog , SCEA has announced the God of War Collection exclusively for the PS3. Set to release "this holiday season," this awesome pack contains "reworked versions of both God of War and God of War II on a single Blu-Ray disc at full 1280 x 720 resolution." This is a totally bad-ass offer, especially to those who missed out on the unrivaled glory of GoW and GoWII on the PS2; it also makes for a perfect holiday gift to any big fan of the franchise. More from the exciting press release:
"Both critically acclaimed games, which were originally developed for the PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system, have been remastered with anti-aliased graphics running at 60 frames per second for a smooth gameplay experience on the PS3 system. Additionally, the Blu-ray Disc compilation will bring PlayStation®Network (PSN) trophy support to the franchise for the first time (included for both games)."
The price? Only $39.99, which is a full $20 cheaper than the normal new release. Now, the only downside is that we don't see a demo for God of War III , which we thought would be included in this package. But even if it's not there, the first two games in high-def plus Trophy support make it well worth the price, and it'll be yet another significant boost for the PS3 this holiday season. Stay tuned for the finalized release date.

Man I don't get how a ps board could be so filled with GoW virgins.
As for me I'll pass. I've beaten both 3 or 4 times and I'm not enough that big a trophy-whore.
Ok ill add you and yes shions ok character but KOS-MOS is a beast no matter what shion to me is a weak character but psn id: KOS-MOS111
(off topic I know, but I have to add this in reply)
Shion is a weak character in every way but one. She is written as if she has dissociative identity disorder (multiple personalities that are not fully expressed, but brought on by unbearable trauma in childhood). The strength in the character is the discipline inside to prevent the horror in her memory from leaking out. The whole deal with Kevin, his death in front of her on top of their early history is like a second helping of trauma, and just drives the character further over the edge. KOS-MOS is like the element in her personality that protects her. She's also the key to get at the rest because she provides the protection that Shion needs to heal.
I really like Xenosaga – can you tell? It's far more serious than most people think, and the depth and complexity of the characters and their relationships is more like a novel than a game.
thats true in everyway but I think if KOS-MOS was able to act on her own instead of orders KOS-MOS would be a more stronger character sorry if I was off subject and just wonderin Highlander psn Id dont get mad for me askin just wondering.

Finally thank you I was dying to try these games,but teh PS2 graphics got old and I thought I wasn't gonna like playing it.Now thats its on Blu-Ray heck yes and GOW3.Glad to be a PS3 owner.

I don't know if I'll buy this one since I spent so much time on the 1st two trying to beat them on God Mode and Titan Mode.
But that prolly means I'll get it anyways for the trophies. Never re-purchased a game b4…this should be interesting.

Holy Crap!!!! I will have to find a way to make even more money seeing the next 6 months are gonna be freakin' hectic on my wallet. I'm behind as it is…. need to catch up on some titles I haven't had the chance to get yet….

This is why they removed B/C. Resales. I'll be too busy with new games replaying old ones for trophies is a waste of time
