Although there are plenty of holiday blockbusters on the horizon, it'd be a crucial mistake to forget about Ratchet and Clank Future: A Crack in Time .
Destined to be one of the year's best, we're anxiously awaiting the day when this sequel hits store shelves. It has already been on display at some recent events but if you weren't in attendance, here's your chance to get a nice close look at the gameplay; the PlayStation Blog has a new video and a bunch information ready to go! Our favorite new detail is how the game "really rewards you for exploring," and there's mention of a super-secret-special boss that must be beaten if you wish to claim every Trophy (hey, it's Ratchet's WEAPON!). Exploration will further yield Zoni – used to upgrade your ship's abilities and weapons – and fresh new mods for your "constructo weapons." Oh, and down in the Comments section, James Stevenson confirms that a playable demo is most certainly in the cards; it's only a matter of time at this point. Remember, A Crack in Time is a direct sequel as it follows the storyline set forth in the first Ratchet and Clank Future and the downloadable title, Quest for Booty . So you might want to play those before cracking into this bad boy in November…
Anyway, this is just another PlayStation 3 exclusive that should make those without Sony's console go, "…uh…I don't have the PS3 because…why?"

If i had to get 2 games this year. It would be this and uncharted 2. Anyway thats great news, this game looks amazing!
If I could only get two games this year, I'd buy Ratchet & Clank twice! These games are the best since Super Mario World.
Completely agreed. The only thing in doubt is where to pre-order…
Yeah! i don't know where yet. I think I'm going to go for the one that gives you extra bolts. Because didn't the people at insomniac say that all of the pre-order bonuses will come in dlc later on. For free
"…uh…I don't have the PS3 because…why?"
Cause its still $600 and it has zero games, you forgot?

LOL. Now, now. Let's not attack those that said they would get a system if the price dropped, only to give another excuse as to why they did not purchase one.
I am looking forward to this game as the others have been great fun for my family and me. Demos are always great but I actually don't put a lot of weight on them as many have been pre-final builds and don't usually convey what the final product is really about. At least, this has been my experience with a lot of the games that I have played.
HA.
You are right about that Fluffer, I have yet to play a demo that even gave you the correct feel for the game. inFamous came close, but wasn't very exciting and didn't even get a foothold on how addictive it is.
Played ToD, played QfB. Can't wait for A Crack in Time.

I saw the trailer and gameplay video from the PS Store update. WOW….the graphical improvement from the last game is astounding….looks like Toy Story. All Ratchet games are great…
FUCKING BEAUTIFUL!
Wow, I NEVER thought I'd actually like a space-based game, but Ratchet and Clank changed my mind completely. It's freaking fun traveling to different planets.
No limitations, all out fun!
Hehe I couldn't help but grin…..'cause um the part where you can land on small planets and walk on them like in Mario Galaxy XD
Well Ratchet was in space first than Mario, sooo.
I remember one of Insomniac's team members' making a comment comparing the mini planets from one of the Ratchet & Clank games (I think it was Up Your Arsenal, but I might be mistaken) and Super Mario Galaxy. All the Nintendoheads were up in a tizzy because of that, saying Miyamoto is a god and Insomniac was a bunch of nobodies and blah blah blah. I lawled.
I think it was Going Commando first, but they definitely had similar bits in Deadlocked.
R&C is just plain fun. It's a platformer, 3rd person shooter combined with a few RPG elements. What more could you ask? Offbeat sense of humor? Check. Toy story graphics? Check. Superb voicing and music? Check. Story? Check. Replayability? Check.
What more could you want? 😉
@ highlander
oh that's easy…… more ratchet and clank!!
@Quarktastic
100% agreed!
Darn, I'm going to have to purchase the quest for booty on PSN….
i love ratchet and clank, but i really didnt enjoy quest for booty that much
I know, but damn for the story…. for the story…….. Zoni Zoni Zoni Zoni!
Price drop on QFB [crosses fingers].
I loved qfb. Definitely worth the money.
I gonna have to pick this up along with Tekken 6 on the 27th. Its gonna be a great holiday season this year.
Does anybody know what the Future in the title stands for? I don't remember all RaC games having Future there.
I only played half of RaCF: ToD, but it was awesome. I think the only thing that turned me off was the sixaxis part.
It's just to distinguish this trilogy from the PS2 games…and it's an unnecessary addition to titles that are already too long.
You can turn off the sixaxis controls (except I think for the tornado launcher). You may have to fail a bunch of times in a row to do it, though.

Im not trading in my ps3 for slim im happy with my ps3.
what? I think your in the wrong article, one up
I have never been big on this series but my bro loves all of them and from the looks of it he will love this one to…and heck I may just have to give it a whirl.
Very good to hear, especially the PIRATE RADIO! Sounds like a soundtrack with such potential I won't even mind that much that I'll more than likely be unable to play some alestorm to go along with it.
The pirate's were one the only good parts about Q4B, and I find it pretty cheesy that nefarious's master plan is apparently doing exactly what he already did and failed at, I know I can't be the only one. Anyway this is still one of my fav franchises.
Oh and todays entertainment was brought to you by the letter Rrrrrr… sorry couldn't resist.
Free space exploration!? Are you serious?! The guys from Insomniac have outdone themselves this time. Day One purchase for sure. *hums fanfare from weapon level up*
yeah sorry my mind was off….. my bad but R&C pwns and uhh….. sorry ben.

i hope they release a limited edition here with a poster of some sort.
i finished tools of destruction again today for the like 8th time and listened to all the developer diarys hidden within the game and found out they had like 4 different endings to the game, interesting im glad they went with the one they did the others dident sound as good.
looking at some of the concept art makes me with they released a painting for us to buy, sure it would be expensive but that stuff looks extremely cool.
i wish sony would do that with all there exclusives especially GOW3, id love to buy a painting of kratos climbing up a titan or something. may be they should release that as a hardcore edition or something. or even better put them up for purchase off the official website im sure they would sell like hotcakes.
Such an awesome coincidence as I've been lately playing some of my older fave Privateer games along with X3 Terran Conflict. All open space flight games where you get to explore the cosmos and customize/upgrade your ship(s).
Privateer was nice, but the original Elite was just….E-L-I-T-E.
😀
