We're all anxiously anticipating Metal Gear Solid: Rising (PS3, 360) and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker (PSP), but you should know that Kojima Productions is working on a few new titles as well.
In a recent IGN interview with head boss Hideo Kojima, he revealed that his team is currently in the process of making several new IPs, one of which is a game Kojima has "wanted to make for a long time." This should excite the millions of Kojima fans around the world, especially those who have been waiting for this pioneer to turn his masterful attention outside of the famed MGS series. He has done it in the past, but now he has some pretty amazing hardware to utilize. Said Kojima:
"The one that I said that I’ve been wanting to make – this is a new franchise and a new title. For the other couple of titles, it could be something that you always wanted to have. It could be, or it could be something else. It’s a matter of the timing of when we can get it out."
Many have been waiting for a Zone of the Enders 3 but others are just hoping for something entirely new; thankfully, Kojima and Co. seem prepared to deliver exactly that. He says right there that it's a "new franchise and a new title," and in our eyes, that's fantastic news. Now, it's time to wait on pins and needles until they feel like lifting the veil…
I would love to see another series by him, i've always respected and enjoyed MGS series but a totally different series would be great to see he's really talented.

I'm pretty much sure to love whatever these projects are, so consider me extremely excited.
And gosh, it seems like he's working on quite a lot as of late (what is it now, 5 or 6 different titles?)
Obviously a good thing, though. The industry can always use more Kojima!
It'll be interesting to see what genre of game this is. I hope it's something on PS3 (as opposed to the wii or another psp game) of course I would settle for multi platform as well.

Whatever it is, I'm sure it will blow all of us away. Just knowing Kojima is making it is knowing it will be fantastic.
Can he even make something that's not gold? I doubt it.

He can make whatever kind of game he wants and I'd buy it without seeing anything.

It's not hatred,I just want to play his games on the highest technical level possible.The Wii does not offer such a level and I don't like the clunky controller.I have not played Galaxy since the day I bought it because of how annoying the Wii-mote is and how outdated the console is.Only a game from this man could make me stomach such an experience.What's so unrational about wanting to play games on superior hardware?

It's safe to say that I will buy anything Kojima and Fumito Ueda (Ico, SoTC) is working on without knowing anything.

I'm thinking an action/adventure title, he did have a cameo in a movie called Azumi (fun flick) and in the special features it had a small interview with him while he was in costume.
Yes, he said that and then there were all the reports of him visiting FPS makers like IW early last year just before and after MGS4 released for ideas on the tech and level design fronts.
However, he's also said he wants to, like all decent Japanese makers of games, make a survival horror as well and, tbh, I think he's the right kind of mind to make a really tense one.
Suda's game that surfaced the other day should be a good 'un as well and it still remains to be seen if that's the game HE was making with Mikami.
The big name Japanese devs aren't half working hard right now and if Nomura really turns out to be working on FF13Vs AND KH3 like I read last week then I don't know just what they're putting in their tea!
Wow I wonder if Konami has ever tried to talk with him to direct or at the very least produce a Silent Hill game, that's been one of my game dreams of mine.
I didnt hear the reason that he hasnt already made it, if he has always wanted to make it.
It sounds like just a clever thing to say, sure to excite people anyway.

this new one can really demonstrate how much talent Kojima has, cuz it is made under the conscious effort. The MG series, when it was released in 1987, not much people know about or played it.
if Kojima can still deliver or even go beyond under all the radar and attention today, that will prove once and for all that he is the best in the world for video game design.

Now here's my opinion:
Upon reading this title, I'm beginning to feel really irky due to being such a crazy fan of the MGS series.
Fact: Bought PSX for MGS1.
Fact 2: Bought PS2 for MGS2. Heck my Aunt bought me a launch PS2 in Japan and I-have-not-touched-it-for-one-year-until-MGS2-came-out. Guess how big a slap that was to the face for me when Raiden was introduced.
Fact 3: Bought PS3 for MGS3, yes you heard me that's what Kojima said. Now if he would have made a different IP instead of MGS3 at that time, the game would have been truly glorified on the PS3. I feel MGS4 was just a hand above MGS2 and a step lower than MGS1. Don't get me wrong, gameplay is the smoothest but storywise…..
I just loved the Bosses of MGS3, especially the Sorrow!!!!

Am I the only person alive who liked Raiden in MGS2?
Sure he was no Solid Snake, but splitting the game between the two characters helped flesh out the story in an amazing way.
