Although it's still a little ways off, Resonance of Fate is one of our most anticipated RPGs of the generation. The style and atmosphere is most appealing and after doing the preview , we became very, very excited.
And now, more information has come from this week's GamesCom event, and what's most compelling is the numbers located by PS3Attitude : towards the end of that article, it says that Resonance of Fate contains over 150 hours of gameplay if the dedicated gamer wishes to do absolutely everything. Now, many will simply scoff at this and say such a number includes everything from side-quests to nabbing insanely difficult Trophies. In other words, 150 hours may not matter to the average gamer…but then again, since when do casual gamers play RPGs in the first place? Aren't we talking about a fairly hardcore group, here? Besides, we further learn that even the "standard" play-through will take anywhere between 50 and 80 hours, and that's pretty darn impressive. It's not exactly surprising, though, as tri-Ace is well-known for making some lengthy RPG titles. And if this game turns out as good as we hope it will, we have no problem at all with these length estimates. In fact, we love 'em.
Read up on Resonance of Fate via that preview link, and don't forget that we've got a gameplay video, too. It's in our preview…go read it if you wanna see the vid. 😉

Wow, 150? Definitely impressive.
I'm not yet convinced that I'll purchase this game, but as I said, that's still an impressive number.
If only more people would follow suit…

Thats pretty awsome, i'm looking forward to this game, it looks like it could be a lot of fun.
I wonder how many times the site has something that includes "this generation" =D
Is this exclusive? It White Knight Chronicles the only exclusive RPG for the PS3 at the moment?
Demon Souls, Last Rebellion, TRINITY: Souls of Zill O'll are PS3 exclusive RPG's. I would say FFXIII versus, but with SE being SE I wouldn't hold my breath.

Cool. Thanks.
no, Resonance is multiplat.
Don't forget DCU: Online and The Agency.
I'm seeing good things from this game, i shall keep my eye on it.
Im getting this day one Im so starved for rpg right now. Im liking the gameplay it looks exciting. I hope to see more characters. Im sure it will be shown @TGS.
You should take a look at Demon's Souls since it is coming out in October.
OFF TOPIC
FF XIII for the 360 might be 3 or more dics while the PS3 is 1. lol That made my day even more brighter. I do feel sorry for 350 owners who have to get up to changes discs though…. lol NOT!!!
Changing discs what?
I remember getting towards the end of Shadow Moses on MGS4 and Otacon prompting me to change the disc. Then he is like ohh this is a Playstation 3 haha
Well you can install the games on the Xbox 360 HDD. Which still sucks. Blu-ray Disc is the best way to make games.
Being fair most PS3 games demand way to much Harddrive pace, my PS3 60GB is nearly finshed off with 10 games 😐
dont fear my friend and just upgrade your HD.
I can, but i should have to really, I just paid £99 to get the thing fixed. A PS2 memory card stored like 30 game saves, its really annoying, the worst feature about the PS3 in my opinnion.
All that space that's being taken isn't for save files. It's the data installs. But I do agree. I don't like installing all those games either. My 60gb was gone way too fast. But I now have a 500gb HD so I'm good.
Eveything I've seen for this game makes me very excite.
Day one-r for me, I don't see any problem with making a JRPG that uses guns, tons of anime is all about guns, plus we had Parasite Eve. Yeah okay I'm a giant Buster Sword kinda guy but the battles and moves I saw in the gameplay shows that this game has some serious style. And kudos on making it lengthy, I never do EVERYTHING, but at least I know my story playthrough won't be over quickly (a cardinal sin in RPG-land)

Bah! *slaps forhead*
I just realized this is End of Eternity in Japan. This game looks pretty sweet. I downloaded the jap trailer some time ago from the jap PSN.
My RPG hunger for this generation just makes me want to buy this day one no matter what.
Imported Demon's Souls couple months ago and it is a great game, one of top favorite PS3 games so far.
Doesn't surprise me at all; Tri-Ace is known for this.
wow and people are complaining theres no RPGs comming out.
borderlands.
alpha protocol.
this.
FFXIII.
FF V XIII.
diablo 3.
starcraft 2.
only if we had that many ninja styled games.
ninja gaiden is one of my favorite series sword fighting games are my favorite genre, and sadly there the most deserted.
theres tunns of FPS, TPS racing games, puzle games,MMOs, RPGs.
but barely any ninja styled sword fighting games, and barely any platformers.
how many games of those 2 genres have been released in the last 2 years?
ninja styled games we have NG2 and NGS2 and that new tenchu game thats it 3 by my count.
platforming we have uncharted uncharted 2 R&C series infamous and thats about it.
theres like 2 games of either genre to 100 games of the FPS genre or even the racing genre.
Good, Square-Enix deserted the PS3 fanbase by creating exclusive titles for the 360 (which pissed me off) and now they're trying to apologize in the form of Final Fantasy: Versus. Sorry, White Knight Chronicles, Demon's Souls, Valkyria Chronicles and (please Altus get 3D DOT HEROES to US shores) justified their place right here.
Still buying the FF13 franchises due to being a big-fan of the series, but still, you're not getting off that easy.
