It'll be the beta event of the year (and depending on your viewpoint, possibly of the generation), and if you want in, you're gonna want to subscribe to the PlayStation Network's virtual magazine.
We've been wondering when the MAG public beta would start, and exactly how gamers would land a spot in the test. The private beta is currently underway and we're not far from the time Zipper Interactive opens it up to the rest of the anxious public, so how do you get in? Well, we don't have all the details just yet, but Sony's Jeff Rubenstein answered the question over at the PlayStation Blog . Underneath the post where we get a look at the trailer that wowed spectators at this year's GamesCom event, Rubenstein said in a reply:
"Yep. Annual Qore subscribers (those subscribed prior to the start of the Beta- 9.17) will have access to the Official MAG Public Beta."
Okay, so the beta kicks off on September 17, which means you've got less than a month to make the purchase that will get you into the MAG beta. Of course, there's another multiplayer beta going on at that time; the Uncharted 2: Among Thieves demo starts on September 15 if you pre-order the impending blockbuster from GameStop. So many betas…so little time.

sweet i bought a subscription last month, cant wait to check this game out. showed this game to a die hard xbot buddy of mine and his tune on PS3 changed real quick. now hes savin up for one. i bet when this is out it will convert a lot more xbots
I'm glad I renewed my annual Qore subscription. It's things like this that help make it worthwile.

I don't know if it is worth the like 30$ it costs (Not sure if it actually costs that much because i havn't been in that part of the store for some time now…) But i also don't think that a beta is worth 30$. I didn't get into the beta but i do want to. And i can just find all the qore videos on youtube.
More than worth it. Plus you get a years worth of Qore stuff not just the beta.
Yeh but i just don't have time and the money to buy this, i am saving up for the sweet exclusives and a new hard drive. Also those new controllers look AWSOME!
I'm in the closed beta and yes it is totally worth it for any non-subscribers to get a subscription. There is noway you can stand to wait till the end of January to play this game. Trust me on this. Yes, its that awesome.
actually i can wait because theres a bunch of games that i would be playing like uncharted 2 and Modern warfare 2. Actually thats how i justify buying modern warfare 2, to kill time until MAG comes out.
I dont need QORE with the awsome coverage PSXEXTREME has but i did get the invite (without QORE) to register for a chance to be in the beta.

Woot, good thing I'm subscribed to Qore, too bad I have to wait to buy a slim ps3 to be in it though…sigh…with my luck the beta will be over.

Yeh, i know…almost too tempting….
Truly tempting indeed, but I need to save cash for the big holiday season of too many games. After the uncharted2 beta I'm not too worried about others, I received my invite to MAG so I'll keep my fingers crossed.

There are plenty of other cool free stuff with qore. I've been subscribed since January.
Figures… I was just accepted into the MAG beta and I'm already a subscriber to Qore. It seems like the only freebies that Qore ever gives out to the subscribers are things that I already own. It's cool for everyone who doesn't have an invite but sucks for me. Not that it matters, anyway: I've had the MAG beta for four days now and I still haven't played it because everytime I go on after work, their servers are offline. Geez.

Qore is cool, MAG isn't really my kind of game, I look forward to giving out my invite code to someone here, same with all my extra codes.
