Uncharted 2 Multiplayer Beta Confusion

Sometimes, things get a little hazy. That's when we have to step in and clear the air, so we won't see e-mails that say things like, "hey, is GameStop lying to me, or what?"

If you weren't already aware, you can land a spot in the multiplayer demo (also known as a second beta test) for Uncharted 2: Among Thieves ; all you have to do is pre-order it at GameStop. If you do it online, they'll e-mail you the voucher code to gain access to the beta and if you drop your five bucks down at the store, they should physically hand you a little sticker with the code on the back. Now, this works out just fine but some stickers (or perhaps all) contain an error: it says this multiplayer beta will run between 08-19-2009 and 09-19-2009, which would mean everything kicks off today. But this has never been true; the beta/demo is scheduled to start on September 15 for those who pre-ordered, two weeks before it becomes available to the entire gaming public on September 30. The correct date is on GameStop's site and Sony will confirm it as well; don't go by that sticker. Oh, and if you were in the earlier test (via specially-marked copies of inFamous ), this does not mean you're automatically in the second test. This is a whole separate deal-io.

So this should clarify the situation. If you want to get in on the multiplayer fun a couple weeks before everyone else, just do your pre-order and wait until the 15th.
