It takes a lot of work and a lot of resources to complete a project like Gran Turismo 5 , and when you factor in the revolutionary Gran Turismo PSP and you intend to launch both this year (we hope), you may need some extra help.
In an interesting development, it seems Polyphony Digital has beefed up their in-house staff by about 25%, perhaps in anticipation of the home stretch in terms of game design for the aforementioned titles. According to Polyphony's corporate profile page, they had around 110 team members but as noted by Examiner.com , the newly opened SCE Worldwide Studios website shows that that number has risen to over 140 employees. As of now, Gran Turismo PSP is scheduled to launch alongside the PSP Go on October 1, and everyone is hoping we'll see Gran Turismo 5 for this year's holiday rush. All evidence has pointed to that distinct possibility and with more staff members, it seems more and more likely that Polyphony is pushing hard to finish things. Either that, or they're already looking down the road to future projects…maybe they're makin' an RPG. How insane would that be? Well, that probably isn't happening but we figured we'd just toss that out there; you know, to be interesting and stuff.
These games don't just pop into existence, ya know. Too many gamers don't fully understand how much effort goes into the production of these blockbuster titles we've come to love. Appreciate , we say!
