We've been waiting to get our hands on the extremely promising Batman: Arkham Asylum , and we don't have much longer to wait. But developer Rocksteady Studios may already be involved in another promising project. One we wanna see.
Although we had to suffer through the abysmal movie last year, there's no denying that Hitman remains a popular and critically acclaimed game series. It has long since been the property of publisher Eidos, and we had all assumed that developer IO Interactive would be working on the anticipated Hitman 5 . However, things may have changed a great deal; remember, Eidos is now part of Square-Enix, and according to new information, it seems Rocksteady Studios may be in charge of the new Hitman . Joystiq found something interesting yesterday: the resume of British actor Mark Sloan , and his work history clearly includes motion capture work for Hitman 5 . But as you will see, the developer is listed as Rocksteady, not IO, which means we have a lot of questions in regards to the actual design team. It's possible that both developers are collaborating on the project (multiple devs are working on Bioshock 2 , for instance), but we can't be certain.
Rocksteady could really make a name for themselves if Arkham Asylum turns out to be as good as everyone assumes it will be. And this being the case, it'll be very interesting to see how they approach Hitman …
Havn't ever played a hitman, but Rockstar is a good developer so this should be good.
The company are Rocksteady Studios, not Rockstar.

LOLOL!
Suckafish. i won't deleat my comment tho cuz then more people can laugh at my idiot comment :P. Oh well i was tired.
Not to downplay their ability (pre-ordered 'Arkham Asylum' shortly after playing the demo because it was just that good), but I really hope they're working with IO instead of taking over. Simply due to the fact that I've absolutely loved all the 'Hitman' games, and it's worrisome to think that some other team might test the waters on such a great series with a wonderful formula.
Though, considering IO have been working on 'Mini Ninjas' and 'Dog Days', they probably could use the help if they want to get 'V' out in the next year or so.
Oh, and even as a huge 'Hitman' fan, I still say the film was a fine one.
Unfaithful to it's source material? Yes.
Poor cinema? No. For that, all you need to do is see what indie film critics are raving about now.

IO is an awesome developer. I remember Blood Money was quite a looker on PS2, using some techniques people thought PS2 wasnt capable to pull off, like normal mapping. To see they are not in charge of Hitman V is a bit worrisome, however Rocksteady seems to have nailed UE3 development on PS3. Lets hope the best.
I wonder how a Hitman will turn out without IO? I guess we will see, how come theres never any news on Hitman 5?
aside: anyone remember Bebop and Rocksteady from Ninja Turtles?
Yes. Going off topic but looking very forward to the next TMNT on PSN coming this winter. Damn XBLA for having it first.
After playing the demo for Batman, I'd have to say that Rocksteady will make a big name for themselves once it's released. Hitman has always been one of my favorite series and after experiencing what they accomplished with Batman, I have real high hopes for Hitman. This has bumped it up further on my "must get" list.
considering how well theve done with batman AA im convinced its a good idea, theve given batman a breath of fresh air and thats exactly what hitman needs.
while on the topic of the batman AA demo, i completely pissed myself after hearing some of the lines the joker has.
"should be considered costumed and dangerous".
LMAFO i keep re playing the demo just so i can hear those 6 words again and again.
i havent laughed that hard since i saw the infamous GOW3 head rip.
september 3rd cant come soon enough.
Sounds like good news to me. Honestly, I've never really enjoyed the Hitman series which is sad because I always thought it had a cool premise. The gameplay as just too generic feeling for me. I just played the Batman: Arkham Asylum demo the other night and THAT was crazy fun. If Rocksteady is taking over Hitman, count me in. I've always wanted to enjoy that series and now maybe I can.
