Uncharted 2: Behind-The-Scenes Stats

As Uncharted 2: Among Thieves is our most anticipated title of the second half of 2009, we have brought you every last morsel of information we could find concerning Naughty Dog's guaranteed gem. But 1Up went and scrounged up even more details; these are little factoids with amusing (and big ) numbers.

Well, we knew about the first few facts on that list; they pertain to the previous multiplayer beta test the team conducted a few months ago. Over 130,000 people from 135 countries around the world participated, and everyone involved logged over 40,000 hours of play time. That's cool and all, but then we get to the more personal, behind-the-scenes stuff: for the original Uncharted , they had 104 total environment files on disc; for the sequel, they have over 400. 30 days on a soundstage recording motion capture performances resulted in 90 minutes of cinematics, daily data back-up has averaged 1 terabyte , the team ingested over 30,000 cans of soda in the 2 years of development, and of the 100+ "Dogs" working at the studio, there are 16 nationalities and 10 different languages. There are a few more factoids about the history of the team, too, so make sure to check it out. Of course, we know what some of you youngsters are thinking: what do I need to do to become a game designer and live a life like this? I mean, just look at that location…who wouldn't want to work there?

Anyway, just as a reminder, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves is slated to launch in North America on October 13. There's no way you can pass it up. No…way.
