Madden NFL 10 is set to launch in less than 10 days, but perhaps simulated pigskin isn't really your thing. Well, how's about a bite-sized, arcade-style title instead?
EA Sports president Peter Moore first stated that pre-orders for this year's Madden installment were "slightly ahead" of last year's, and then went on to confirm two new projects, one of which is Madden Arcade . It will be a downloadable title that, for the moment, we will assume should come to multiple platforms, and it should be ready to go later this year. Said Moore:
"Earlier this year, we took the award-winning NHL game energy and developed [NHL] 3 on 3 Arcade. It was simple to pick up and play at launch as a fully downloadable game. We will follow this approach with Madden Arcade later this year."
In addition, EA revealed that EA Sports Active for the Nintendo Wii had sold 1.8 million copies since its May 19 release, which makes it the best-selling Wii title ever. Obviously, this will spur the team forward to embark on similar projects, and with the casual gaming crowd growing with every passing day, something like Madden Arcade ought to satisfy a great many people. Really, we don't all need that insanely deep off-season nonsense. What if we just wanna hit someone?
groan
should be a mode.

i NEED that insanely off-season stimulant. I hope Madden 2010 is awesome. But 1.8 million copies ain't bad, the Wii needs competition in the motion sensory stuff, hurry up Sony!
All EA sports games should at least have a arcade mode for da n00bs
