It's our most anticipated game of the month, and although some of you may have snagged some play time with a demo that popped up in some retail stores, most of you haven't seen it yet.
Well, you'll have the opportunity at the end of the week. Eidos has revealed that a playable demo for Batman: Arkham Asylum will be ready to go on Friday, August 7 . PS3, Xbox 360 and PC players will be able to check it out, and you will see the introduction and play through the first mission. Batman and Commissioner Gordon are trying to return the Joker to Arkham Asylum but things go awry (if you couldn't guess), and furthermore, the demo will let you unlock character bios and "get a sneak peak at some of the infamous foes that Batman will encounter with the cavernous and macabre confines of Arkham Asylum." Yeah, who knows what kind of freaks they've got penned up in there? From what we've seen already, this game is both wonderfully entertaining and possibly more diverse than you might believe. Also, don't forget that the Joker will be a playable character only in the PS3 version; Arnold got a chance to use him last week at the Sony event in Manhattan, and he said it was great . We can't wait to get our hands on this one!
Batman: Arkham Asylum is slated to arrive on August 25 in North America and three days later in Europe. Yeah, we've got Madden NFL 10 , too, but that caters to a slightly different demographic.

Good. I hope the demo does a good work showing the game, my purchase depends on it.
it's about time!! i've been waiting for the demo announcement for quite some time now… i've been eagerly wanting to play the demo… chances are i won't buy it right away because of a few personal issues but, i want to at least try it out…
Man…its been awhile since I was last on PSX. Anyway, this demo would be better if you could play as the joker in one of the extra missions.
I hope that this game plays as well as it looks. With everything I have read about it I can't wait to get my hands on a copy so I'll be downloading it as soon as its available.
i got 3 games i wanna get this month.
Madden 2010, Wolfenstein, and of course Batman: arkham asylum.
@ben
will there be a wolfenstein demo? and whats your take on the game ?
I have always been 50/50 on this game. There are a lot of questions i hope the demo will clear up.
played the Gamestop demo. FREAKING AWESOME! i played it a few months ago. i played it 3 times. its a great game.
Friday? Not Thursday? Well, there has been the occasional little update on other days. I'll check the demo out.
I might DL this for some entertainment
The more videos of gameplay I see the better this game looks. The fighting, the sneaking, the tactics, the collectibles and the amazing voice overs? What's not to like? If this demo is anything remotely close to awesome, I might just have to pick up this game. Either that or it's going to be one epic let down for me.
The games visuals are very nice but the game itself is meh….I played the demo at Target already. Not a game I will be buying. Nice that we get the Joker. I guess.
idk i tried the demo at my local toysrus all it was just fighting the bad guys over and over in each rounds
That was the challenge mode, not the main game.
There are 16 of those challenge rooms on top of the main game and frankly, they sound like a load of fun.
A must check out demo that'll help me decide if i want to wait or get on release date.
Finally a demo…as raztad said depending on how the demo plays for me I'll either get it or pass. I'm am waiting for this game so bad that I'm currently playing Lego Batman, lol. I hope it's worth it.
Hmm, what's so amazing bout those footage?
It's just a stealth/action game with Batman.
Though I won't judge it before it comes out.
Well, it is a multi-plat… I hope the PS3 hardware has been used to the best of its abilities… likely not though!
I am sure it will be a great demo to play nonetheless, looking forward to it.
Q!
"i am home"
got the collectors edition on preorder.
but whats the point of releasing a demo 2 weeks before the games out.
demos should be out minimum 1 month before the game releases, that way you can get a taste for the game hype people up and if the demo sucks well hopefully enough time would of passed for people to forget.
