Well, despite some of the more heated comments we've seen that have attacked the idea of motion sensing in this generation, it seems a great many of you definitely like this new technology.
In fact, the vast majority of you believe motion sensing is either "okay" or "great for the industry," and you're pretty much split between those two responses. Developers seem split, too, although one – Heavy Rain designer Quantic Dream – has said they don't particularly like that direction, and see gaming shifting more towards the movie spectrum. On the other hand, other companies – like EA and Ubisoft – have expressed their interest in the new motion sensing technology being prepared by Sony and Microsoft, and evidently, it seems there will be plenty of compatible software. For our part, we don't mind cool new advancements in the industry, especially when it involves something innovative and even revolutionary, but we just don't want gaming to lose its focus. We can easily see how certain genres will benefit from this fresh technology, but we really can't see how it will enhance our enjoyment of RPGs, for example. And speaking of RPGs, now that a whole bunch are on the horizon for the PlayStation 3 (took long enough, but whatever), we want to know:
What's your most anticipated PS3 RPG? Now, we're leaving Final Fantasy XIII and Final Fantasy Versus XIII off this list because the results would be too obvious. We know everyone wants those; we'd like to know what ranks almost as high on your list. Is it Level 5's White Knight Chronicles ? Bioware's Dragon Age: Origins ? Or that fantastic Demon's Souls we've been hearing so much about? Yes, we're including the latter title because it's not yet available in North America. Vote away, role-playing fans!
I like the motion-sensing technology, it just worries me when I hear people say 'Oh yeah, in a few years, we'll all be playing in virtual reality.' Because, while I certainly wouldn't mind more and better games utilizing such technology, the majority (by far) of games I'm going to want to play need the good ol' controller.
So, as long as Spielberg doesn't get the deciding vote, I'm all for it.
As for RPGs, the choice is obvious to me:
'White Knight Chronicles'
Honestly, even if both 'Final Fantasy's were included, I probably still would have voted this way. I adore Level-5, and the only RPG that could possibly get me more excited is another Level-5 project, that (sadlysadlysadly) is not coming to the PS3 ('Dragon Quest X').

Demon's Souls.
I'll second that.
some sort of spy rpg I think.
I'm "all thumbs" up for motion sensing, but just include it as an "option" in the game.
And another thing….
EA & Ubisoft just better NOT dumb any of our Sonymote's functions if MS's "Natal" Ward mote can't handle their babies, like some delelopers have done with their multi-plats.
I demand the maternal instinct of "full power, baby", out of my developers lil newborn games.
And not some sh!t-stained diaper of un-fuctionality"!!!!!!!
I'm against motion sensing just as I'm against 3-D movies. It's unnessessary but I suppose I could change my mind one day if there was a product worthy enough that implemented it really well…
What about Shumps? Shooters? Puzzlers? Actions/Suspence? Horror? More RPGs polls? I feel like the cat is in the matrix.
No no no, the question here is, how does Sony's Motion Sensing tech, get Gran Turismo 5 closer to my hands? That is all that matters.
They already invented splendid racings wheels for that beauty of a game, amigo'.
😉
Burnout paradise implements steering using the Sixaxis as well, it works OK, but takes a lot of getting used to. Not my cup of tea, but some liked it. You don't need anything more than the sixaxis to implement motion control steering.
LOLOLOLOLLLOOL!!!!111one
Ben, in your new poll it says 'FFs'
That pretty much looks like For Fudges Sake
(aside from Final Fantasy)
BTW, White Knight Chronicles all the way.
Then Demon's Souls and Last Rebellion (hope it's cool).
Chronicles for me, what the deuce is Last Rebellion?
Hmmmm! Tough decision
The three I like there are: WKC, Tales of, and Demon's Soul
Probably Tales of Vesperia, love that series.
Same here dude…Tales of Vesperia all the way. Plus with all the new content coming to the PS3…I can't wait!
I've always though motion sensing was cool, but it rarely ends up as more than a gimmick. I think if they find ways to integrate it better and more fluidly, then I'll probably like it more.
As for the RPGs, I guess I haven't been following any of them too closely, so I might just stay out of this poll. All I know is I've heard good things about WKC and Alpha Protocol so I might have to check those out.
Not much love for Resonance of Fate, but I'm really looking forward to that too.
all this motion thing, i dont care the least, think about it, how can u keep in motion for a whole day, u can only play in motion for a while before your body exhausted, but the serious gaming or hardcore gaming does not need the motion, ie. RPG gaming.
regarding the list, I will pick Demon's Soul and WKC follow behind, i will say they are on par cuz they are two complete different style, each at its best. Demon's Soul might be more satisfying and one of its own kind, and I am yet to see how difficult it is cuz every preview or review said it is the most difficult RPG in recent years, that makes me hooked.
regarding the Resonance of Fate, the graphics looks epic and cool, but I am not sure about the gun shooting part as a JRPG

As much as I'm looking forward to Demon's Souls and WKC, I have to pick Tales of Vesperia. They need to announce the NA version already, if not to really enjoy the truly full version of that game with extra goodies, story and dungeons, at least we can rub it off in front of 360 owners, hehehe. Just kidding, I'm really hoping it will be released by the end of 2009 or before March 2010. Fingers crossed
borderlands looks interesting.
looks like a fallout 3 clone with aliens, which to me is a good thing.
im still playing fallout 3 to this day and cant wait for them to release the DLC.
now only if they would add cheat support to the ps3 coppy, i FINALLY found the MIRV but cant use it because nukes are either impossible to find or bloody expensive to buy.
all that scrummaging to find the mirv wasted.
HA fantastic, im glad this feature wont effect Heavy Rain. I personally dotn like it, the only motion effexts i do like are for minor things, like on Uncharted how they used it for balancing or on MGS4 to reset the camo index. I remember on Heavenly Sword how they used it quite alot and i didnt enjoy it.
WKC ftw!
I picked WKC over Demon Souls!
