John-ShepardEuropean gamers have been asking the same question for months: "when are we going to get access to those handy-dandy PlayStation Network cards?" Well, despite all the rumors and speculation, we may finally have an answer for you.
According to Euro site PS3-Sense , it has been "confirmed to retailers" that these pre-paid cards will be arriving in stores on October 1. Apparently, they will even offer a variety of price ranges and added support for the PSP Go, which is also slated to release in October. It would make perfect sense to provide gamers with such cards when a unit launches that relies on digital downloads, although PS3 owners will likely say, "uh, yeah, but what about us ?" Well, if it's any consolation, the cards aren't exactly in normal locations here in North America, either; they should be proudly displayed at the counter in every GameStop in the country, but they're not. Anyway, we hope to see a greater circulation of these PSN cards as time goes on, and here's hoping that this information is accurate and our Euro buddies can finally get in on the action. If you didn't already know, the PSN card works like any other pre-paid card: you just pay the amount listed on the card (cash, credit card, whatever), then bring it home and input the number into the Network. Bam, there are your funds.
It makes things a little easier, although we have to say that buying something on the Network is about as streamlined as it can get. Heck, it's almost too easy to buy stuff, if there is any such thing.
