European gamers are used to getting jerked around when it comes to high-profile releases, although lately, the concept of the worldwide simultaneous launch has really entrenched itself in this new generation.
We wish we could say that Uncharted 2: Among Thieves will hit store shelves on the same day in both North America and Europe, but it appears this won't happen. In fact, despite what you may have heard, Naughty Dog hasn't actually announced an official release date for this guaranteed "AAA" PlayStation 3 exclusive. Right around the time we heard that Uncharted 2 would be available on October 13 in the U.S., we also heard an unofficial statement that it would launch in Europe ten days later on October 23. Most people just accepted this – it certainly sounded plausible – but Naughty Dog has disabused us of this pleasant notion. According to a recent Tweet by Naughty Dog co-president Christophe Balestra, there has been an unfortunate clarification:
"The European Uncharted 2 release date is NOT Oct-23, it will be announced soon."
Bah. Well, there's just no telling when Among Thieves will hit European shores, but for the sake of all our gaming pals across the pond, we hope it's not long after the North American release date. For the record, Uncharted: Drake's Fortune launched on November 20, 2007, while Europe got it a few weeks later on December 7. We expect the gap to be similar for the sequel, but without the official word, we can only speculate for now.

Bummer.
ther are f*****g teasing us way 2 much!!
That sucks for the european region.
i wish(eternally!) that it might be the same date – or shock of horrors – before the US version. i live in hope….
They're probably trying to pin down all the pre-order stuff before announcing a date.
I don't get why this is still happening to us in England. Games for PS3 are not region locked, language is the same as America. What else is stopping them?

You know, there are times when I think the same thing in reverse.
Small Example. SEGA's Outrun on PSN was not available here in the US, but you had it back home in blighty didn't you? There are some games, PS3, PSP and PSN that never make it to the US, or take forever to arrive. I wouldn't mind so much if the ones available on PSN could be purchased from the US, but they can't. It's the one respect in which any real region locking happens with the PSP or PS3.
Don't they sometimes change the lingo up a bit? for instance there are British and American expressions or figures of speech that don't match up across the board.

ARRRRRGH!
All the different language voice acting makes it tough I bet…
They should just subtitle all the other languages (though, I think SCEE has a strict policy about that.
Yeah paying attention to all the 'not English' languages out there is sure a bummer….
😉
Tell you what though, if Japanese game makers want to sell their games here with English subtitles instead of re-voicing them, I'll be OK with that as long as it means getting some games we wouldn't otherwise get.
Aye, the hardcore would actually welcome such a movement.
And casuals aren't the ones who would actually buy rpgs, and most Japanese niche games.
Though there are exceptions! MGS needs to be voiced in English!
Europe suffers because to release requires translation to a bunch of languages. They are likely looking for someone that speaks Portuguese…
Sorry Scarecrow, just saw I mimicked your post…tired:(
They're probably stuck on a translation into Basque or Esperanto…

You guys in Europe complain about not geting a game same time as us, why dont we get that TV service for our PSP and PS3? What about the music and video downloading service? What about the PSP's Go! camera and the Go! GPS? at least you guys get the game, Even if it is at a later date. You guys get all the hardware love.

@ jmo
hardware is nothing without software!!
once again europe gets the sh** end of the sh** stick…complete bollox but we should hardly be fu**ing suprised at this stage…
Naughty dog..class developers…just a shame they cant manage a simultaneous release for the normal english speaking gamers.
why should we have to suffer because of the rest of europe cant learn the mot widespread language?
But you still get the software, without hardware, what will you play software on? It's a never ending circle.

which is exactly why it should be a worldwide release for each.then everybody is happy.
Don't make Europe angry, we'll give you until October 23rd (as per contract/rumour) then we're kickin off big time!
Then if this is the case it's the same for Australia and New Zealand, we won't get it till Europe does.
well according to EB game and HBHIFI its out here in oz on the 15th of october, 2 days after the US.
hope thats true, if its not out here by the 18th im getting it off ebay.
