If you're not at all familiar with Wet , we suggest you check out this latest gameplay trailer before reading on. …there, now that you have a basic idea…
It seems that developer A2M didn't have a heck of a lot of faith that initial publisher Activision would actually produce this game. According to European site PlayStation Only , the game's Creative Director, Patrick Fortier, spoke about the switching of publishers. Wet is now set to be distributed by Bethesda Softworks, and Fortier believes his title is definitely in a better place. Speaking at an event in Amsterdam yesterday, he said that "after they heard that Activision would not be publishing all of Vivendi's titles [after the Activision/Blizzard/Vivendi maneuver]" A2M made a decision. They weren't convinced that Activision wouldn't just drop Wet – like they dropped several other projects – so the designers looked up Bethesda. Fortier says the new partnership is working out, adding that Bethesda hasn't "limited them in any way." As most of you know, Activision is primed to deliver several huge blockbusters to store shelves later this year – Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Guitar Hero 5 included – so there's no knowing how they may have treated Wet . We've always thought it looked like a promising action title, but we're not publishers…God only knows what those guys are thinking sometimes.
So anyway, when Wet finally goes on sale, you'll have Bethesda to thank. Let's just hope you'll have a reason to thank them…
