It may be taking a little longer than expected, but Gearbox Software swears that it will still assault store shelves at some point in the near (hopefully) future.
Gearbox boss Randy Pitchford gave an update on Aliens: Colonial Marines to CVG , and he says there are "great things afoot." This is in response to several rumors that hinted at the cancellation of this project, and Sega recently confirmed we wouldn't see it before Aliens vs. Predator dropped early next year. Colonial Marines has been in development for quite some time, but Pitchford is aware of possible fan frustration; heck, he's a little anxious himself:
"I know that there hasn't been much talk about what we're doing for awhile and that more details would be very juicy. Like so many people, I've been patient for years to finally be able to play this game and now that I'm actually involved in the creation of it I can tell you that it's extremely challenging to continue to be patient as it develops.
I want to tell all! But I can't. But I can say that we are working hard and that there are great things afoot and I know that when the time is right, Sega will be excited to share more details about the game. Until that time, I guess the only thing anyone can do is just keep pressuring Gearbox and Sega to spill more beans. Maybe one of us will eventually crack."
Pitchford goes on to say he's "extremely committed" to making this game and he asks the fans to be as patient as possible. We could certainly use a great game based on the legendary sci-fi movie series, as many will say we haven't had a decent Aliens title in years. Anybody remember Aliens vs. Predator for the Jaguar? That was pretty sweet. Let's just hope Aliens: Colonial Marines will be worth the wait; we'll provide you with more updates if either Sega or Gearbox "cracks" in the near future.

borderlands looks very good.
Who's playing Borderlands wit me?
You can count me in. Borderlands is gonna be the shit.
Borderlands looks unbelievable. If it's half as good as they say I'll buy it within the week.
Yeah it has been a while since i've heard about this game, I hope they release a demo on the PS Store otherwise ill be weary.
they better be cause this is the only Aliens game i'm looking forward to since the Rpg got canceled
AvP was my first Jaguar title… ah memories.
@Worlds,
I've got that one for my Jaguar too.
But I'm bummed out cause for some strange reason I've lost the manual & the controller template.
So with 17 damned buttons, I'm now blind, & clueless, to playing it again.

Come on WEWM, send BikerSaint a scan. The poor guy…
wish i could but I had to sell my Jag long ago.
I have never heard of AvP for the Jaguar, but I still love to play Avp2 for pc.
one of the only old games me and my friends still bring out during lan parties.
@BTNwarrior,
It was a cartridge game, before they came out with the 64 Bit adapter.
The newer 64 bit unit fit on right into the top of the older base unit,which allowed you to play both the new CD games & their older carts(I have both units)
This game looks very awesome, and I loved all of the alien movies, even the alien vs. predator movies, and every time I go to an arcade and I see that one game where you have to shoot aliens I play it because that's how I roll.
They need to make this game, and release it a bit later because there are a whole bunch of expected "Mega Ultra Games" like Bioshock 2 coming out in 2010.
You seriously enjoyed AvP…..
I found them…. such words shall not grace us, but not good!
I love the first 3 films, many dislike the 3rd, but i thought David Fincher did a good job, especially under the pressure he was in. A3 had a good ending, just a pity AR bought it back 🙁
ACM is starting to sound a lot like Duke Nukem Forever.
Naw. Gearbox actually come out with it's games.
