Pre-Order Ultimate Alliance 2, Play As The Juggernaut

Does everyone remember the original Marvel Ultimate Alliance ? It was essentially Baldurs Gate: Dark Alliance only with superheroes, and it was well received by critics and gamers alike.

And now, the sequel is on the way. We just recently had a chance to go hands-on with this promising title and I believe Arnold described it as being "leaps and bounds" ahead of the first title. You'll have to wait for his hands-on article to learn more but for now, it's enough to know that you'll get a cool in-game incentive if you pre-order Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 at GameStop. You'll receive Juggernaut as a playable character, but only if you pre-order either the PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360 version (the PS2 and Wii versions will get no such love). We figure you'll get plenty of great superheroes to toy around with in the game, but hey, we're not gonna complain if Activision wants to give us another one. We may not ever see another Dark Alliance or Champions of Norrath , but Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 should give us as a similar style of gameplay…only with more in-your-face intensity. There's little doubt that there are plenty of fans out there who will be interested in its imminent release later this year.

Just remember, superhero followers, this game will be very different from something like Batman: Arkham Asylum . We're long past the days when all superhero-based games play the same…

LMAFO.
that was pretty obvious.
you trade in a game 9 days after release and they give you 40% of the RRP.
i bought fear 2 on release for 120AUD 12 days later traded it in and got 69.
i bought fallout 3 for 80 took it back 3 weeks later got 38.
i bought ghostbusters for 110 on release 8 days later took it back and got 70.
but than preowned ghostbusters is 110.
preowned fallout 3 is 60.
i took in resistance 2 last week thinking of trading it in and they offered me 40 bucks for it.
and there charging 90 for it.
they are the worlds biggest rip off….
besides M$ of course.
thats why im getting all my games from JBHIFI from now on, i got resi 5 LE 30 bucks cheaper than EB and game there.
there always 10-20 dollars cheaper than EB or game.
and some times they release games early.
i got Ninja gaiden 2 4 days early.
i got mortal combat V dc 2 days early.
i got fuel 4 weeks early thats right 4 bloody weeks.
i couldent believe when i went to pick up infamous there was fuel staring me in the face.

I've been screwed over by EB/GameStop over and over and over again. For example, I pre-ordered the Guitar Hero: Aerosmith bundle and picked it up on the first day for $110 Canadian. I went home and realized the game sucked so I went back 6 HOURS LATER to be told that the trade-in would only be $25. Luckily enough, I knew the guy working and he decided to return it as a defective for me.

Last year, I decided that if you were going to receive these pre-order bonuses from EB, I might as well pre-order from EB and receive the extra goodies. I pre-ordered Prince of Persia to receive the Special Pre-Order Edition. Picked up my game, was given the regular edition and was told that the special edition was only going to be a US-exclusive, something I wasn't told when I pre-ordered and asked them to make sure to get me the special edition. Two days later, I went back to EB and saw the special edition behind the counter. They never even called me back to tell me they received them. This example has happened three times with me there in the last year so I've finally decided to not pre-order anymore. If there's a special edition I want, I'll just get it off eBay. If you only receive an incentive such as this Juggernaut, I can guarantee he'll be available for $2.99 or so on the PSN Store within a couple weeks of this game's release. That's what Activision did with the X-Men Origins: Wolverine pre-order bonus.

EB/GameStop are crooks. They treat dedicated, long-term customers like absolute crap, sell you opened games for new price because one of the employees decided to take it home and try it and they give you 20-40% trade-in of what they expect to sell your title for. I'm done with them. I hope they burn for the way they treat their loyal consumers.

Geez – you decide yourself if you want to sell your games at the given price or not. It's not like anyone is holding a gun to your head. GameStop is a business, not more, not less.

"I've been screwed over by EB/GameStop over and over and over again."

Then why would you keep doing business with them?

"I hope they burn for the way they treat their loyal consumers."

Why would you ever be loyal to a video game distributor?

Grow up.

It's a good thing you don't have a name there blank boy because it would be mud. Why don't you just rent the friggin' games?! Bringing back brand new games to GameStop after 8 days… and then complaining that you're being ripped off?? Of COURSE you're being ripped off. There's a sucker born every minute!

Ultimate Alliance 2 is actually, believe it or not, the most anticipated title this *year* for me. The combination of the (albeit lightweight) rpg-elements plus seeing my childhood heroes come alive and being playable is unbeatable. Look forward to read Arnolds preview!

I just watched Xmen Last Stand last night and I want to play something more fun and kinda new. I DO like Marvel Alliance, its pretty fun, I hope there is something really different and maybe more rpg-ish in MA2.

I'm sure the character will be available for purchase on the PSN without pre-order. Personally, I wait for the price of some of these games to drop to $30 before I buy.

We all thought that about the inFAMOUS gigawatts blades too…still waiting for those.

I seriously hate Gamestop for this BS they keep doing, but I may just have to submit to them…

Since juggernaut has been in every trailer since day one (as far as I can recall) as well as being used to play with in their showcases I find it hard to believe they included him as a pre-order only at *all*. I definately think it will be easy to unlock him.
