Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Coming For The Holidays?

With all the blockbusters scheduled for the holidays, it's easy to forget that still more may join the fray…

Thankfully, some huge titles have already been delayed into 2010, giving the industry – and gamers – some breathing room for the time between October and December of this year. However, fans of the original Battlefield: Bad Company may have to add the sequel to their Christmas wish list, as it seems EA is listing it with a "Winter 2009" release estimate. Before this, we had seen "Q4 2009," so we can't really decide if "winter" is an upgrade; technically speaking, it kinda isn't. But it's not like EA to miss big market opportunities, and to present Bad Company 2 to the FPS fans for the holidays is a damn good opportunity. The estimated release can be found on EA's website , and we honestly hope this one will make it out in November or December. The first title was both fun and technically solid, and here's what we can expect from the sequel:

"A direct sequel to last year's console-exclusive game, Bad Company 2 picks back up with the Derelicte B Company, which comprises a fictitious U.S. military's expendable misfits and outcasts. Destructible environments, which were a core component of the original game, will again play front and center in Bad Company 2, thanks to further revisions to its proprietary Frostbite game engine. Destructible environments, which were a core component of the original game, will again play front and center in Bad Company 2, thanks to further revisions to its Frost Bite proprietary game engine."

Seriously, it's just about fun. Granted, they may not want to do battle with Activision's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 , but there may be room for both on store shelves this year.

I am interested in this game.

Sarge, Sweetwater, Haggart…..can't wait to see what these guy's get themselves into this time. The first game was hilarious and with good story elements.

This game had some of the best weapon sounds of all the FPSs and the vehicles were, for the most part, alot of fun!

Well you could buy BBC now for less than $20, so you should try it out. The online multiplayer is where this game stands outs. The campaign needed a a little bit of work. I hope this new game fixes that.

You can get BBC for 18 bux on amazon. If you are remotely interested in the fps genre then you have absolutely nothing to lose and everything to gain. The game is awesome. Get it and look me up!

It's as underrated as MW is overrated.

i don't know about this game. i bought the 1st one and i thought it would be silly and dumb all the time, at least that's what i got from the trailers, but its not really that funny. sure some of the cutscenes and some of the dialog are, but its pretty much standard fps stuff in the end 🙁

you think? mind you I only half played the single player.

for me it was all about the online side of things.. and still are.

Loved Bad Co. but felt that the game dynamics/vehicles strayed from the original Battlefield formula. The gameplay dynamics seemed restrictive somehow, not as smooth as let's say Modern Combat (which was pretty much the only game I played for the past 2 years..) . After playing 1943 I have high hopes for BFBC2!
