Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising has a chance of becoming one of the most intense and authentic military video games in history, but it has eluded the limelight due to continually shifting release date estimates.
However, as noted by LivePlayStation , it appears that the very promising title has appeared on the UK GAME website with a September 25 release date. However, it's interesting to see that we can't find evidence of the same date for the Xbox 360 version. The official site for the game simply says "Fall 2009," and with the changing about of those launch estimates, we're wondering if the game is still set to have a simultaneous release…might the PS3 version get precedence? It seems very unlikely, especially these days; even timed exclusivity is tough to come by, as evidenced by the fact that most games this generation get simultaneous multiplatform launches. But the fact that only the PS3 version has a date affixed to it is curious, although we still don't have any confirmed date for North America. Hopefully, Codemasters will fill us in on the correct date for both versions of the game, and we strongly urge you to keep a close eye on Dragon Rising , as it could very well become one of the most memorable experiences of the year. If you don't believe us, check out the latest Fear and Anticipation Trailer and judge for yourself.
Sure, the competition is crazy high but we believe Codemasters can give us something special. And it's great that it might arrive before the heavy hitters in October and November.
