If you're a hardcore metal fan, chances are, you're all primed and ready for Tim Schafer and Double Fine's newest creation, Brutal Legend . And to truly embrace the concept, how would you like to attend a special concert in the game's honor?
It's the "Brutal Legend Metal Meltdown" concert, and it features semi-comic shock rockers Gwar, the all-girl heavy hitters known as Unholy Pink, the Canadian metal band 3 Inches of Blood, and Black Flag co-founder Keith Morris. The show is set to melt the faces of all attendees on July 23 (the first day of Comic-Con at the San Diego Convention Center, which is close by), and the best part is that this concert is free . That's right; all you have to do is RSVP at the sign-up page and reserve your place amongst the roaring crowd. And who knows who you might meet…Jack Black could be around, as he's the voice behind the game's main character, or perhaps you'll even bump into Schafer himself. This may not be a standard marketing tactic for a video game but based on the Brutal Legend theme, there's really no better promotional option; just let the metal fly! For our part, the title is easily one of our most anticipated of 2009 and as we're definite fans of Schafer and Co., we just can't wait to check out the latest production. Sadly, it may not top the sales charts (his games never do), but you can bet on a warm reception from the critics.
So if you're in the San Diego area and want to check out a free show, there's nothing stopping you from signing up. Just remember that Gwar never uses real blood. At least, we don't think they do.

3 inchs of blood!!!! shame its only in America 🙁
I'm I the only one who does not care about this game? I used to be a metal head (Pantera, Megadeath, early Metallica, Slayer, etc) but this game really hasn't clicked with me.
**correction; Am I the only one….
Man, that's 2 in one day.
nope, doesn't do anything for me either.
I really don;t know what this game is about, i'll have to investigate but it's not one i would pay full price for, way to many RPGS being released that have my attention. It sounds like a neat game though.
Sweet! I knew that paying the ridiculous mortgage here in San Diego would pay off. I just signed up!!!!
It would be sweet to meet Jack Black, and Tim Schafer too? I am in there. I hope i get an invite or whatever they are supposed to send….
I have not listened to GWAR since Junior high. Man, I feel old.
