Fighting fans love fighters. Many are loyal to one particular franchise, but they always enjoy hearing about successful games in their genre.
Take Tekken 6 director Katsuhiro Harada, for example. He may consider Street Fighter IV competition – despite the fact that it launched back in February – but the game's undeniable critical and sales success has impressed him. In speaking to VideoGamer.com , Harada said it was great to see fighting games battling their way back into the limelight. He also cited Soul Calibur IV and the latest Mortal Kombat as good performers and it seems he's banking on this renewed love affair with fighters for the ultimate success of Tekken 6 . Here's what Harada had to say about SFIV:
"I’ve been a fan of Street Fighter in general, and I was kind of sad to see it die out in the arcades. So I was very happy to see it make a comeback – especially with that new look it returned with while staying true to the original formula. I believe a lot of fans were very happy with that."
Well, you can bet that Tekken 6 won't stray from the original formula that made the franchise a smash success in the first place. It is scheduled to launch in the US on October 27 and with SFIV faring so well, it seems a safe bet to assume that Tekken 6 will be another hit. It must be a good feeling for all the fighting fans to see their old favorites generating so much interest.
Related Game(s): Tekken 6 , Street Fighter IV
Blazblue + Tekken 6 will be my choice for 2D and 3D fighters this gen. Will drop SF4 and KOF12 respectively, cuz they seemed less exciting to me comparing to the first two.

I still don't know about Tekken 6. It is however a good time for fighters and right now it is all about Blazblue.
Same here. Getting BlazBlue and tekken 6.
Wats up with this BlazBlue BluezBla Bla bla bla?!
@ www play it and you'll see
lol Blazblue bla bla bla
Boring character designs
That's what I've never liked 'bout Guilty Gear. It's the same team behind it, so the character designs are still one-dimensional, sadly.
They say it's a good fighting game though. But if I don't like the cast I can't really care enough to bore myself to death with characters which don't appeal to me.
Same fate SFIII suffered.
I'm going to buy tekken 6 just for the beat-em-up game mode .
Street Fighter IV was great but it got repetitive too quick. Yea i felt the nostalgia, i had a great time with it but i felt like i've moved on. The Tekkens and the Soul Caliburs have exposed me to variety of moves and realism, so going back to that old Street Fighter formula didn't work.
I guess like Shadow am a "NOW" type of guy, learn to love the new things and move on. Tekken 6 is a must-have.

Repetitive?
Or rather, you just suck? :O
You really believe Tekken 6 will be better than SF4!? that's pretty funny actually.
Lol Scarecrow, i played every bit outta SFIV, and it was all the same ol' heavy kick, super combo, ultra combo, that's it.
Tekken 6 is tekken 5 with improved graphics. This better be the last tekken since it's going multi.
I don't know, that cooperative mode looks pretty sweet.

If tekken 6 stayed as a playstation 3 exclusive, its success would've spike hardware sales. But nope, harada just had to throw that opportunity away by making it multiplatform because of "stupid" demands made by xbox 360 owners.

Lol @ You "Tekken Must Be Exclusive" Ppl. . .
Can we get a release date?
I,ve already played the tekken 6 bloodline rebellion ps3 version of it at some at some tournament we had in AZ and from what i played it was good, the game also had a mini adventure mode were you pick a character and go around beating up people who are not in the game and try to get points and I think try to save someone. my only complain is that I was only able to use the D-pad for the actual one on one arcade fighting, but hopefully they make it so we can use the analog sticks
SFIV <3

Eh I was just going to say how great these comments made by Harada are to acknowledge SF4 like this. It's great for the industry and it's so refreshing to hear in the midst of "the console wars" and the nonsense Itagaki spews. But after I get to read some of your comments I'm almost a little sick of the "X game is better" bull. It's all subjective what most of you are saying, but SF4 has received excellent press reviews and hardcore fighting enthusiasts – like myself – love it. Not to sound arrogant, but PLEASE if you're not a serious competitor (like me) then you absolutely have no right to pass judgement on SF4. Reserve such ignorance for Mortal Kombat games or button mashers like Smash Bros.
Let me add that I'm very adept at all fighting games, and love what some of them do for the competitor circuit. Namely Soul Calibur, Tekken, BlazBlue (will be getting it soon), SF3 and 4, MVC2 (to a lesser extent), and Virtua Fighter. I want to add DOA but I haven't enjoyed it since DOA2 as 3 & 4 felt very average.
Tekken has always been my favorite series of the genre, so I'll probably get number 6 as well.
🙂
Of course Street Fighter comeback is good, and its good because it benefits Namco and SEGA's arcade business in a major way.
Do you honestly think namco and sega want see Tekken and VF alone being the only draw to the arcades? Given SF popularity its enough to stage a resurgence of the arcade scene(which I personally think is good)
Blue Blaze, Tekken 6 and the PSP iteration of Soul Calibur please…
