Red Faction: Guerrilla is easily one of the best titles of the year, and if you've been having fun blasting Mars a new one over the past month or so, you'll be happy to hear about the upcoming DLC.
Yesterday, THQ announced a set of three pieces of downloadable content for the entertaining open-world action title; the first should be available on both the PlayStation Store and Xbox Live Marketplace on August 13. According to GameSpot , the first pack will be "Demons of the Badlands," and it'll boast a new single-player story arc that actually places you in an all-new environment not originally part of the Red Faction world. It is also hinted at that the game's Marauder faction will be a fixture of this particular piece of DLC, and you'll be able to pick it up for $9.99 on the PSN or 800 Microsoft Points on Live. The final two packs are slated to release some time later this year, although we don't know what type of content we will receive. These days, a great game can become even better with the continued support of the designers; extra content always makes the game feel fresh (or at least somewhat fresh). A game like Guerrilla lends itself perfectly to DLC, simply because its emphasis on relative freedom is a definite bonus. Makes things easier for the devs when they go to add stuff, you know?
Anyway, we'll make certain to give you the details on those other two downloadable packs when they become available.

Cool game
The ostrich hammer in single player would great. As long as it's not like five bucks or something.
Red Faction ROCKS! I've taken down WHOLE STRUCTURES on enemy soldiers! Also, whacking a soldier with a sledgehammer makes a TRULY sickening noise!
(off-topic: Thumbs-up on Overlord 2!)
I never liked this game; it seemed a little humdrum to me.
I'm still waiting for my fallout 3 dlc that was supposed to come out in "late June"
hmmm, wonder what happened to it.
Bethesda is making damn sure there are no bugs for "our" DLC.
Looks like it's time to start swinging that sledge again.
IMO taking down a building with a sledge hammer was just as much fun as blowing it up, great effects either way.
