As we all know, movies only need to make money in order to warrant a sequel. Quality isn't a requirement.
…which is why a sequel to last year's "Hitman" film is still in the early stages, but at least it sets the stage for another game, which has a good chance of being great. According to Kotaku , the movie will act as a marketing tie-in with the next installment in the critically acclaimed franchise, and both are due out some time next year. Variety has reported that the movie "will contain story elements from 'Hitman 5,' a game due to be released 'in late 2010.'" For our part, we certainly like the idea of a new game; this is one series that has flourished despite some inevitable comparisons to other games that utilize stealth as a primary appeal. The movie wasn't really worth talking about but then again, what film based on a game is…? We always like to remain optimistic so we'll try to keep our hopes high for the movie, but we fully expect the game to deliver the goods in spades. In all honesty, we wouldn't care if the film disappeared and all we got was the game…how big of a tragedy would that really be?
Anyway, we'll be on the lookout for new Hitman news as time goes on, although with a "late 2010" estimate, we probably won't find very much for a little while.
I didn't care for the first Hitman movie, my only hope is that they can do better on this one(doubt it but still hoping)

Timothy Olyphant looked like a thirteen year old cancer patient with that shaved head…terrible casting indeed…
Why did they hire that dude for this part? He just failed all over the place.
The movie was ok if you never played the games…
based on the game however,it sucked…
my brother bought the movie for me when it came out and it included "Blood Money" for PC,which i did not enjoy as much as all the games before it..
i just hope, that they learned the lesson here, and that the next game/movie is better..
The book (Hitman: Enemy Within) is a good read. I don't know how it stacks up to the games, but I enjoyed it.
More importantly, how often does the game and the movie ever actually come out near each other? One or the other gets delayed and which ever is done first gets antsy and has their own release schedule. Honestly, who noticed Ghost Rider or Blade?
Idk, I like Timothy Olyphant, and I thought Hitman was sort of entertaining. Sure, no There Will Be Blood, but a good action movie. However, the games are obviously ten times better, and the new movie with probably be full of total suck. Looking forward to the game though.
Hitman 5 Hell yeah…. I can't wait. The Hitman series has always been one of my favorites. I still have them all at home and play them from time to time.
I don't know I didn't find the movie all that bad thou …. I've stopped having high expectations of game to movie adaptions as it always fails…
But Hitman 5 I will get on day 1.
That's the key, keep your expectations low.
finallyyyy!!!! a new hitman game ^_^ I'm so thrilled, been waiting for this since beating blood money!!
thats the problem.
EA and activision and spewing out shit and still expecting 120 bucks for a steaming pile of turd.
there should be a group of gamers or something limiting how much they can charge for there games.
because well mercenaries 2 is not worth 120 bucks.
transformers 2 is not worth 120 bucks.
guitar hero metalica is not worth 120 bucks.
bionic commando is not worth 120 bucks.
ghostbusters is not worth 120 bucks.
all those games listed there shouldent be any more than 60 bucks no more.
and i hope they do a new hitman game ive been wanting one for ages.
i soaked so much time into the first 1 on ps1,theres so many franchises sony could bring back from the ps1 days.
what are they waiting for, and WHERES MY SYPHON FILTER?
dark mirror and logans shadow are the best psp titles i think its time it made it to ps3.
thats what we need.

wesly sniped is a bad ass
he also evades paying taxes
speaking of activision.
am i the only one thinking its extremly ironic that they go and threaten to drop the ps3.
but than all ive seen this week is ads for transformers 2 on ps3.
looks like they aint dropping it to soon.
ahhhhhh the irony.
Oh, thank God! I've been waiting for a while now for news on the next 'Hitman' game (this being the first time since the series' creation that the next game hasn't been released two years after the last).
And I actually thought the 'Hitman' movie was quite good, if not very faithful to it's source material.
i havent played any of the hitman games but i thought the film was good and entertaining, the acting was a bit crap but it was violent and fun!!
I agree with slayerkillemall.
The game aside, the movie wasn't so bad. But since the game was so good we'd expect a better movie.
Yeah, the acting in the Hitman movie was atrocious and I really wondered why this guy didn't put a hat on when the entire Russian police force was looking for him. I mean, the guy is pretty recognizable with that big bar-code one the back of his bald head.
However, I went into the film expecting it to be ridiculous so I wasn't disappointed;) it was kind of entertaining.
dont care much 4 the movie but finally a next gen hitman been waiting ages for them to get theat one going
Wooot for the new game! And if they are going to continue to make movies out of games then they should start using CGI so they can keep the origional voice actor and have the character look the same. THIS is what I want for the metal gear movie if it ever comes.
