John-ShepardLast week, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots turned one year old, and not coincidentally, Konami has revealed that some related announcements are coming our way.
According to Kotaku , Konami plans to reveal multiple announcements this week, and all of them pertain to Hideo Kojima's legendary franchise. Of course, Konami already unveiled their trio of big games during the week of E3: Metal Gear Solid: Rising for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker for the PSP, and Castlevania: Lords of Shadow for the PS3 and 360. Hence, you can probably expect game updates of some sort for MGS4, or perhaps the announcement of a special anniversary edition of some kind. The problem with such news is that we could theorize all day and all night, and in the end, we might never stumble upon the correct answer. We have to assume that the fireworks concluded after E3, but Konami has a history of saying, "yes, expect big announcements soon!" thereby causing a series of discussions and arguments. So before y'all get worked up, let's just adopt the "wait and see" stance; there's no knowing what Konami has up its sleeve in regards to MGS. We have a few ideas – and we're certain you do, too – but we'll keep them to ourselves for now…
Guess we'll be scoping out the Internet for these announcements this week. Just about anything related to Metal Gear Solid ranks high on our priority list, as it should .
Can't believe it has been one full year already. I'm going to play MGS4 right now, just for the hell of it.
We'll just have to wait and see what they have planned for us 😀 I'm sure it'll be great, whatever it is.
Here's hoping for trophies, this is one game that I can definetly see myself spending the time to achieve platinum

Exactly what I was thinking Trophies I stoped playing through the game again recently because Im anticipating them coming.
MGS4 is my goto game when Im in a slump on something else or bored.

I hope it's something to do with MGS4, because we'd probably get that stuff before any new projects.
Probably a MGS4 patch, would be sweet to have trophies or something of that sort.

Meh. Rather play as Snake. MGO is a lot of fun. But I would rather see some add-ons to the main game.
I really want to play MGS 4 again, but consider I've already finished the game 4 times and beat the new game in the boss mode. I think I will take it easy and enjoy all the cutscenes.

MGS4 is a horrible game to replay.
Have to deal with all the cut scenes. Can't just skip a scene entirely, you have to skip it a few times. Plus the install times, and that dreaded act 3… I hated it so much…

I agree with Stickemup in a way, I dont find MGS4 very fun to replay. This is partially to the new gameplay system, i dont like the over the shoulder gameplay style thats in every other action game this gen. I much prefer MGS2's gameplay. I just feel i have more freedom on MGS2 to experiment with all my weapons and situations, In MGS4 i feel i just have to keep progressing through.
Also as Stickemup pointed, Act 3 is pretty boring, it was great the first time, but once you replay it, it becomes tedious.
Not that im saying MGS4 is a bad game its not, the story is phenominal and there are moments in the gameplay that excell (Such as the last boss fight), but i just find the other 3 more fun to play.
Ultima are you still REPLAYING street fighter IV? cause that game got boring and repetitive quick…

Replay it in a different style. My first time through I played mindless run and gun, second time through I played stealthy, and my third Im going for non leathal take downs on all enemies. The game does not get boring.
remember the name "MGS: Existence" being registered a while back? I'm sure I heard about it on this site. Anyway, my guess is it will be a special reissue of MGS4 with bonus features like MGS: Integral, MGS2:Substance, and MGS3:Subsistence.
i hope they will shift the online to sony servers , i really liked the online portion of this game but i never really thought it is worth the trouble of logging in .
trophies would be a nice addition to an already great game

It could just be an announcement about MGS 1 coming to PSN…yeah we were already expecting it but it would still be great news. I don't think there has been an official release date yet.
The Bikini DLC is the new MG announcement?
There is an announcement planed for every day of the week. The bikini was the first, the Icebound Inferno (another Scene expansion) is the second I think.
Aaaaah not another MGO pack. I can't keep up. I'd see Trophies or some chapter add-ons.

Agreed. It was fun this years E3 but after that it's getting old.
Was Act 3 it when you were following the guy ? I hated that act it annoyed me a lot.
The rest were good though. Online is fun to play too
