As most of you know by now, Metal Gear Solid: Rising will feature Raiden and will be more action-oriented than past entries in the franchise.
So perhaps you won't be surprised to learn that Kojima Productions won't be using the engine they utilized in last year's masterpiece, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots . Instead, according to Examiner.com , the team plans to build a multiplatform engine from scratch that will support the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC. They also go on to say that despite the claim of Sony fans that such a multiplatform project wouldn't be as impressive as an exclusive title, they will sacrifice no quality in the making of Rising . In fact, they say this new title will look even better than MGS4, so that's good news. Thing is, while we still believe Kojima could excel on the PS3, we also know that as a master and a perfectionist, he'd never put his name on something he wasn't proud of. He may only be producing Rising but it still carries his name, so we seriously doubt this new MGS will be anything less than stellar…even if it does play more like a DMC.
We'll bring you more on Metal Gear Solid: Rising as it becomes available, but we have to remember that Kojima said we wouldn't see more official unveilings until next year's E3.
