John-ShepardWell, you've probably had your fill of God of War III by now, so we probably shouldn't even bother giving you any more details… Wow, such terrible sarcasm.
Sony has provided us with the Fact Sheet for this unbelievable game, which brought Sony's E3 press conference to a satisfying close. You should've already seen the gameplay footage we saw when they showed it off on stage (check the PS3 Videos section if you haven't), and to accompany that, we've got a few updates via that Fact Sheet. Arnold will soon deliver an updated GoWIII preview but for now, here are a few pieces of info to tide you over: first of all, the environments will be "up to 4 times larger than those found in God of War II ," which immediately sounds enticing to the nth degree. Secondly, and you may have heard this already, but Kratos will be able to climb atop Titans and ravage the earth from above; these controllable behemoths can be the size of the "Empire State Building." Thirdly, "thousands of dynamic lights and textures with quadruple the resolution…allows for realistic muscle striations, detailed facial expressions, and new heightened levels of brutality and gore." Yummy.
Fourthly, there will be all new weapons, including the Cestus – that set of gauntlets you saw in the on-stage demonstration – and lastly, there's something called High Dynamic Range Lighting (HDRL), which "will emulate the human retina, causing players to feel a sharp brightness when Kratos exits a dark area and enters a sunlit area, similar to how the human eye would need to adjust." How cool is that ? Oh, and we have to remind you that this is the third and final part of the GoW trilogy; sadly, Kratos will be no more when all is said and done.

He's probably referring to the fact that it looked very close to GOW2 and didn't look much improved.That shouldn't be a downer thought if you're a fan of the series and if you're not than you should probably just move on and let every one else gasp in it's glory.

I diagree eiturely. It's miles in advance of GOW2, imo. I'd been playing GOW2 just before th Sony E3 show and the differences are like night and day even at this stage with lots of polish still to come.
Honestly, there's little comparison with the numbers of enemies onscreen, the dynamic(and vast) Titan levels, the textures, the resolution, the details(backgrounds and character models), the "zipper" system-I could go on but you get the picture.
Really, GOW3 is looking amazing already, will only get better and slicker and I cannot wait for March(like always!).

I have all 3 next gen systems and with the games coming out this year and next i'm a little excited but god of war isn't one of them. I only get Ps3 exclusives and this is the place I come to see if their worth my buy…Xbot, so lame.

Oh, they could very well make more God of War games without them being God of War games. They've created, or re-created?, a perfect universe with the Greek Mythology, which is RIPE with stories or potential stories and they could, if they chose, pick up any given story and run with it in a game format. Referencing Kratos and his ordeal without ever having him present. Or set before the birth of Kratos.

I love Greek Mythology, such a shame that my school keeps any books on em in a back room you have to get the librarian to go get them for you 🙁 but I was lucky and the librarian liked me =) so I didn't need authorization, lol
Agreed. Kratos needs his own damn place in Greek Mythology now, as the new god of war. I mean, it is only myhology right? There is a Cratos in greek mythology, but he is of little significance. So little that I can't even remember 🙂

They coud find any number of Greek God storues to p.lunder after GOW3 but , personally, I love to see some Roman or Egyptian god action, no? Even some Norse gods done properly(like including Loki(god of mischief IIRC), some of the lesser known gods as well as your Odins, Thors and Hera's)could be brilliant.
Lots to come as long as the lead is as good as Kratos has been.
every see when Kratos gutted the centaur his guts and stuff came out, THAT was awsome in every single sense of the word, I was hoping to see some of that 'velcro' skin and stuff they were talking about, and I'm so glad I did, but hey at least we know it's definitely coming out in march =D

Still such a long wait though… while we wait why don't you explain that HDRL thing in a little more detail. What's it supposed to do? Blind us or something?
I know I can't explain but I think it is being used in FF13, but the 360 is only using Medium Range or something, because it takes up a lot of space and the PS3 can use it pretty well, But I don't know the specifics. All we gotta do is wait for Ben….or The Highlander =P

This is going to be epic I mean kratos looks amazing and I for one can't wait to see the great greek cycle of son destroying father plays out against the true titans kratos and zeus.
God of war has always been epic cant wait to see more of this game.

sad that this is the last of the trilogy games hopefully they make another and if they do im 100 percent sure they are going to involve Hercules after all he is Zeus son who is out for revenge

GOD OF War 3 is going to be the best game ever! It looks so amazing.
It will be good that Kratos will be put to rest after this one. Leave it as a classic, sometimes that's the best thing to do.
Then they can do something else thats different or use some other Greek Mythology and go with that.

Yes I do want this game. From what I've seen, as with KZ2, this game is going to work the PS3 hard. Really hard. I'm sure come March 2010 we will hear many complaints about machines overheating. Oh well…..the things we have to deal with. ; )
