LEGO Indiana Jones 2 Confirmed, Level Creation Included

The LEGO-based video games have always been relatively solid and great fun to play – especially co-op – so we won't complain that a sequel to LEGO Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures is headed our way this fall.

According to ShackNews , developer Traveller's Tales and publisher LucasArts have confirmed that LEGO Indiana Jones 2 will release for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii, DS, and PSP this fall, and that comes as good news to all Indy and LEGO fans everywhere. The follow-up title is described as "a tongue-in-cheek take on all four cinematic adventure of pop culture's most iconic archaeologist," and that of course includes last year's newest film adventure, "The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull." Of course, the first three movies were depicted in varying ways in the first LEGO Indiana Jones so we fully expect to see all new scenarios in the sequel. Oh, and one more thing: we'll be able to build our own levels "brick by brick!" After all, isn't that what LEGOs were always for? We're not entirely sure of the depth involved in this level creation, but the mere fact that it exists is enough for the time being, and we'll be interested to see how it turns out. In all honesty, you're typically better off with the LEGO-ized game adaptation of a movie than you are of any other licensed game based on a film.

If you enjoyed past iterations in this franchise, there's little doubt that you'll have fun with LEGO Indiana Jones 2 . Now, when will see LEGO X-Men …?

I hate to say it, but if only these Lego games had trophy support. For some reason games with trophies always win my time over games that don't.

200 pigeons ! ahem … sorry about that.

These new LEGO games (Indy 2 & Rock Band) should all have trophy support since Sony now demands it in all new games.

I'm still very upset over Lego Batman. Giving us the "too late in development cycle" line is major BS.

I remember reading something that Sony said, if you dont have trophy support, dont bring it to us, i liked the first Indiana Jones, this one might be even better, with the level creator, hmm, kinda like Lbp!

Awesome, my cousins loved this game. Level creation will make it that much better. The level creation in LBP is too time consuming.

As fun as the Lego video games have become, does anyone else feels it's kind of weird to be playing a game about pretending to build lego..instead of actually playing with real lego? I don't know maybe it's just me…Of course with the price of Lego these days…it would be cheaper to buy a video game anyways..lol

The games are cheaper than real sets of LEGO.

haven't played any of the lego games since LSW:The Complete Trilogy. haven't tried the batman or Indy games yet… I'd probably play the Batman one over the Indy one anyway. You already knew the 1st Indy was gonna have a sequel just from the name.
