Update: Unfortunately, it really was a mistake. DICE has responded to these rumors, and the reply is posted below, as seen at GOONL!NE:
"Contrary to rumors spreading around the Internet…we have no plans to release Battlefield Heroes on either the PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360."
Well, damn.
Original Story:
Originally, Battlefield Heroes was only announced for the PC, but recently uncovered evidence hints at the distinct possibility of a console version as well.
According to GOONL!NE , EA's press site now lists the game for both the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, which comes as good news to all you Battlefield fans out there. However, the game holds a June 2009 release date and is still waiting for a rating from the ESRB, which means we may not hear about it for some time yet. Also, September 2009 may be the actual release date for the PC version; the game has suffered through a series of delays thus far, so there's no knowing what may happen next. For the record, this title is being developed by Swedish developer DICE, also responsible for last year's Mirror's Edge and the upcoming and highly anticipated Battlefield: Bad Company 2 . Heroes is kinda like a more lighthearted, cartoon-y project that may appeal to a wider and perhaps more casual demographic. It would make for a nice addition to both the PS3 and 360's library, but we can't confirm anything until either DICE or EA makes an announcement of some kind. Really, the listing on the press site for a console version could just be a mistake.
These days, it makes far more sense to release a game across all available major platforms and most publishers will certainly agree. So let's just cross our fingers…
i never heard of battlefield
lol some gamer i am
i still need to buy mirrors edge
played the demo pretty good game from what i have seen
I bought Mirror's Edge for my daughter. It was cool watching her play it, but it seemed like it needed a little more to get me to play it.

Are you kidding me kratos? Battlefield Bad Company can be had for under 20 and it's a ton of fun. The single player is great and the online is off the hook. I'd vote for you to get BC over ME, but I don't really know your gaming preference…
lol im tryin 2 get into the beta tests 4 this 1… now tht its 4 ps3 and 360 too, ima gonna need to figure out how 2 apply 4 a console position instead
finally! some compitition for team fortress 2

"the game holds a June 2009 release date"
its coming out next month or is that a typo?
umm, that game looks stupid.
I'm in the beta. It's just "ok" for me. I wouldn't pay money for it, I much prefer the Bad Company setting.
Yeah, I agree. I'm in the PC beta as well, and the game isn't something I'd pay for at all. For free, is kinda fun though. But I still prefer the original Battlefield 2 or Bad Company over it.
According to srawlfx dot com:
"On Saturday, we noticed that Battlefield Heroes was listed on Electronic Arts' press site for both the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 for a June 2009 release. So we contacted Peter Nguyen of EA Games to get to the bottom of this.
"This is an error on our press site and we are correcting this information ASAP," Nguyen told me. "The dates listed are for Battlefield 1943."
There you have it, just a simple error"
I've got the beta (PC) and its quite fun though due to the very low grpahics I highly doubt that it will be on PS3 & Xbox
It looks like it uses pretty much the same graphic engine as Team Fortress 2. Which isn't really a bad thing as it fits the humor that's included. And if it's as fun as Team Fortress then it's one I'm looking forward to.
i love this game. and i am glad its staying on PC. a console version would be dumb.
Theres also battlefield 1943 coming out. Theres a trailer and everything
