Remember that Japanese Debut Trailer for End of Eternity ? The one that made RPG fans drool all over their keyboards?
Well, there's some news: first of all, as announced over at Sega's official blog , the game has been confirmed for North America and it will be known as Resonance of Fate in this part of the world. It's scheduled to arrive in the spring of 2010 and considering that we just saw the debut video, that's not too bad. This is a tri-Ace game and set to be published by Sega (the first time tri-Ace won't have Enix or Square-Enix produce their game), and that may be a commentary on Square-Enix's insistence on a new-found Western focus… But that's another topic for another time. For now, just enjoy the new screenshots found at the blog link above, and we'll be on the lookout for any new information concerning Resonance of Fate . But just so you know, any time you find details concerning this or End of Eternity , it's the same game, okay? Got that? It can be a little confusing; we honestly thought we had left the days of differing titles based on region well behind us. Well, whatever the title, we can't wait to learn more, just 'cuz we love our RPGs.
Can tri-Ace one-up Square-Enix this generation? Will Resonance of Fate set the bar, and will Final Fantasy XIII be taxed with the task of jumping over it…?

OOO…I like both names….so either way it's cool. Really looking forward to it…and a competition with FFXIII would be awesome!
I know sounds kinda impossible but would be fun if this game surpass FFXIII.
nothing is really impossible. Impossible is just a state of mind.
Impossible is only temporary…and simply an OPINION.
YEAAAA let's get in more BIG STAND OUT STATEMENTS GUYS LOL.
it might surpass ff13 if SE holds back the ps3 version to make it identical on the 360
I lawl at this.
I think this games is going to be awesome!
should have just kept the name the same
Yeah…
Wtf's "Resonance of Fate"
Doesn't make sense…
Neither did "End of Eternity." 😉
Since when did RPG titles have to make sense? Especially JRPG titles!?
Well, A lot of people think the games story is loosely based off of 'The End of Eternity' by Isaac Asimov. Great book, read it in high school.
"With that disappearance… came the end, the final end of Eternity, and the beginning of Infinity."
Edit – Maybe that is the reason? Copyright issues? I think The End of Eternity is being made into a movie I heard. Maybe they could not get the rights to the name in America…

Yeah. The name for Final Fantasy still doesn't make sense either 😉
But Resonance of Fate makes a little bit more sense than End of Eternity.
Is this where I should do my little happy dance?
<happy dance mode>
thats true how does eternity end actually any ideas?
happy dance mode?
Happy dance mode…in celebration of another RPG coming to PS3…as in something good happens and people do their happy dance.
Looks good.
I find it ironic that when Tri-Ace gets it's 1st game published by Sega, we get an accurate North American release date window this early.
BUT here we are 3 or 4 years into development of S-E's Fabula Nova Crystallis FF XIII games…and no release dates….NONE.

Hmmm I LOVE both names!!! Resonance of Fate sounds so mysterious! And End of Eternity is >….<
Ah I'm just happy to know it'll come out not-so-far-into-the-future
"End of Eternity" is just way too close to "Final Fantasy" but I agree, the region title changes are stupid. And I suppose the concept of fate could resonate in certain moments of life.
Ahem, anyway I think "the first time tri-Ace won't have Enix or Square-Enix produce their game" proves tri-ace got some sense in them. SE just fails.
I hope the name doesn't confuse people too much.
Though I do love the fact that we got Dark Cloud 2 renamed as 'Dark Chronicle' 😉
It removed the number so it sounds fresh and epic.
Whatever you want to call it I want this game.
wow are some of you on here complaining that a name of an rpg dont make sence? tell me how the hell does *final fantasy* make any sence when there is over 20 in all? not so final in my book lol
