Resistance 2 Patch 1.60 Detailed

Despite what some may think, Resistance 2 is one of the best multiplayer titles available – have we forgotten about those insane 60-player matches already? – and Insomniac continues to work to make the experience even better.

Thanks to this topic over at the Resistance.net forums, we now have the information for patch 1.60, which should be available today. As you can see, this update repairs a bunch of issues and provides us with more enhancements; for instance, the "Ring of Life" Berserk energy is now depleted upon activation, and access to the Allies menu has been fixed. They've also re-game time to the ticker, you can now earn a "Field Medic" ribbon by healing the other splitscreen player, and perhaps best of all, "any XP and Gray Tech earned in offline cooperative games will be retained when the player goes online (this will help address any stats issues some of you experienced after the release of the previous patch)." Oh, and they have updated one interesting feature; the ability to launch a multiplayer game within PlayStation Home. While this patch does add that capability, there are few internal issues that need to be resolved before you'll be able to do this. However, this should become available as an option by "next month."

If you haven't already played R2 online, you're definitely missing out. It's one of the most intense and enjoyable experiences you can ever have with up to 59 other people at once.
