You'll have to wait until October, but we can pretty much guarantee that Brutal Legend will be worthy of your purchase consideration. Anything by Tim Schafer typically is.
And if you want further incentive, go ahead and check out the pre-order bonus : if you drop your five bucks on Double Fine's latest, you will receive an in-game Tenacious D guitar, which was created "in close collaboration with Jack Black and Kyle Gass of the band, Tenacious D." This isn't just a cosmetic upgrade, either; it'll give the game more sound effects plus "new voice over work" from both Black and Gass, a new visual effects suite, "and new geeky technical stuff like unique textures, materials and shaders." If you didn't already know, Brutal Legend follows the surrealistic exploits of a band roadie, voiced by none other than Jack Black, and it's one of the most unique concepts we've seen in quite some time. What else should we expect from Tim Schafer and Co.? If you're a die-hard fan of his work and love the antics of Tenacious D, you should definitely take advantage of this pre-order promotion. If everything goes well, this game should be a highly sought-after action/adventure title for both the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
Everyone likes to complain that we get too many sequels, and too many games feel too similar to one another. If you're one of these people, you must love the concept of an IP…in which case, you should really be looking forward to Brutal Legend .

Cool! jack black is to funny, and Tenacious D is ok. Don't know if Id buy the game though. Probably rent it.
Im glad its finally coming out this year!
I suppose the t-shirt deal that Activision was previously giving away for preorders are no longer planned.
I love Old-School Metal and I love Jack Black but I'm not sure if I would love this game.
Let's hope it can WOW some critics and get decent review scores. Then I will probably check it out.
