Those who keep a close eye on video game news and rumors probably won't be surprised to hear about this announcement, but at least now it's official.
According to the official PlayStation blog , Marvel vs. Capcom 2 has been confirmed for the PlayStation Network and it will arrive some time this summer! Last year, Capcom asked the fans (through GameSpot) to tell them which of their favorite franchises should make a return in this new generation, and the publisher certainly listened to the feedback. They're almost ready to go for this summer but best of all, we're going to get an exclusive free demo on the PSN this week. It will drop on Thursday – the customary day for Network updates – and you'll really be able to dive in and sample the goods. The demo will give you a sneak peek at the following:
It's a must-try for fans of the original Marvel vs. Capcom and if you're a fighting fan, you should definitely consider it. This is a genre that has certainly enjoyed a rejuvenation of sorts in the new generation and as a downloadable title, this upcoming sequel ought to be a fantastic deal.

It's been announced at 15 bucks over on Kotaku, and thank god this is a little exclusive to the PS3. Hehe, cant wait to download this demo.

HELL YEAH! I hoped the rumors were true, this is a must buy for me. SSFHDR, SF4, and now this… Capcom has really came through for us old school fighting fans here of late.
