If you haven't logged into PlayStation Home lately, you might be surprised at the additions that have been made since your last visit. The latest batch of content, detailed and pictured by TAWKN , may cause you to explore the updated Home spaces.
First, you will find that the Resident Evil 5 space has been upgraded a bit and now features a new beetle mini game (give it a try!). Then, to celebrate the recent launch of The Godfather II , we get a whole new space that includes two separate floors complete with poker tables, where up to 8 players can sit down and have a game. Not surprisingly, the entire space screams, "I have lots and lots of ill-gotten gains!" so it's definitely worth a look; it's pretty damn sleek. Moving on, if you're bored of the clothes selection, you'll be happy to know that the Threadz store in the Mall just got a new shipment, and for all you fighting fans, Street Fighter IV figures have popped up in the furniture store. Lastly, there's a Xi update – who has been following along? – as Stapler sets forth a new challenge: beat Hexapolis, Maximum Tilt, and the text-based game, "Caverns of The Bandit King" on Expert difficulty. This Xi thing is almost like being part of a secret society, except that it's so secret, not even the members understand the organization's true purpose.
At any rate, there are plenty of new reasons to visit Home so if you've got the time, we suggest logging in and wandering about. This is one application that's definitely going to grow and expand with time; we wonder what it might look like in a few years time…
nice,anyone for poker?
Is this a US exclusive?
I'll admit that since the initial rush on Home, I have pretty much let it gather dust in favour of MS:PR, KZ2, SFIV, Fallout3 and others… but my catalog is starting to look thoroughly played, and Xi is really intriguing me.
That and the poker thing… nice~
makes no difference if its us exclusive, just make a us account
meh cant be arsed…
I've been following along with Xi. Hexopolis and Maximum tilt on expert are kicking my ass though.
Xi really was an amazing idea. I think I had logged in maybe once since my initial exploration in the closed beta. Now I sign in just about every day to see what's up with Xi.
About a week ago I stopped kidding myself and realised that Home is a gigantic waist of time and is pretty damn pointless (My opinion)
I realized it was a waste of time when it first came out and trying it out for about 30 minutes. Haven't been to home since. What's the point!
Same here.
Pretty good chance you will change your minds…it's just a matter of time…
Exclusive sneak peek videos, cool mini games you can coop with your friends (like the poker) should attract the skeptics…
Home is a baby still, look hard enough to see how deep the potential really is…Home was not meant to be a chat room and that is what it has been for months.
Ok ok, I will log back into home. Really good to see HOME finally getting some good ideas. I have not logged in since a few games of bowling got boring the pool was even worse. I am curious if the Poker game is any good.
I also admit that I haven't logged into Home in quite some time. The poker does look sleek enough to get back in there.
Somebody please tell me what Xi is and how to find/join it? Like what is the purpose of it??
noooobody knows
The whole point of Xi is to find out what it is
While the other two responses were correct and in the spirit of Xi, you do need to know where to start.
There is some graffiti in the central plaza, on the apartment building I believe. Just go to it to get started.
Interesting developments… H O M E is slowly improving… can you imagine it 5 years from now!
Q!
"i am …truly, home"
I wasn't sure what to make of that new club house or whatever. I'm glad it's expanding but I can't be bothered with it unless I run out of games to play.
Well I went back to H O M E and had a wonder about. Still don't find it that compelling. I get bored quickly there… I guess you really need to use it for some socialising or something to really make it worth while. Don't know how good the game launching is… haven't seen it happening much at all, Warhawk a few times when I have been around…
The mini games are alright I guess, Pool being my favourite one…
Didn't think much of the Godfather space at all to be honest. The most detailed and appealing are the Warhawk and Resident Evil 5 spaces.
Q!
"i am home"
Home is fun if you have real world friends to play it with. Otherwise, it is a waste of time. Unless you like making not real friends and you're a creepy stalker dude.
I think Home would be better if the bring back the friggin voice chat!
I love Home, i'm on it now infact. The one thing that really wets my strawberries though, is the people that just walk round, yelling (typing in CAPS) at people with female avatars. There was one the other night calling them a "tranny". I mean for God's sake, I can't believe people are still THAT childish. If people want to make female avatars, go ahead, it doesn't bother me, but it need to be more mature before it can grow in my opinion.
ok ok,for all you haters home is no where near the stages people want it to be,people were asking where home was too much,so they gave us the basic package just to shut you people up.
but now they are adding things all the time,i know its slow but these things take alot of time and money and im pretty sure you wouldnt want a whole load of goodies all in one go just to get bored and then wait even longer for more goodies.what im saying is have a little faith and patience,it will get there in the end…i dont know what you people were hoping for with home, but at the end of the day its a social networking program but with a bit more kick,so go visit ,make new friends and chill out from all those fragfest games we keep playing…
by the way sony, the prices of the clothes and things for the spaces are ridiculously priced, how in the world do you expect, low paid, middle class familys to afford these things which for a start aint even real..u need to sort it out fast or you will start losing people….
my god i can rant on cant i LOL
