EA Featuring Heavyweight Legends In Fight Night Round 4

The sport of boxing may be struggling on paper, but in the video game world, EA keeps it alive and well with the likes of Fight Night Round 4 , and let's not forget about Punch-Out! on the Wii.

For EA's boxing simulator, it appears they're going to be including many – if not all – of the biggest names in heavyweight boxing history. There are screens and character information up at the Inside EA Sports blog , and as you can see, the best of the best are there. Featured on the list are Muhammad Ali, Eddie Chambers, George Foreman, Joe Frazier, Lennox Lewis, James Toney, and Mike Tyson. …are we missing anyone? Well, maybe Evander Holyfield and a few others leap to mind but for the most part, you can't be disappointed with this list of fighters. The screenshots also look downright fantastic and we have nothing but high hopes for this one, which is scheduled to release some time later this year. If you hadn't noticed, this is one franchise that is both popular and well received by the critics, so don't think it's all about Madden or The Show . EA really has generated a fine series here, and it's well worth your attention. They've got one more heavyweight fighter to announce; what would your selection be?

We'll let you know when EA tosses out a release date for Fight Night Round 4 , and in the meantime, we'll keep digging around so we can get a more complete idea of the fighter roster. This is a great start, though, don't you think?

I haven't played this series since the first installment. I think I remember not hating it. By the looks of the SS, it might be a nice showcase game if nothing else, heh. Just to have so many great boxers represented in top gen tech entices me.

Looking forward to this game. They had better include "Marvelous" Marvin Hagler, Tommy Hearns and Pernell Whitaker.

I was very impressed with Round 3. The graphics still look very good, considering it was one of the earliest PS3 games out. Really looking forward to this one. Thanks for reporting on it.

Love boxing, but haven't liked a boxing game since Mike Tyson's Punchout.

Super Punch-Out was fun as hell. And the new one looks fun also. But I'm not buying a Wii to play it.

The Fight Night series is the best boxing series ever. I have every single one and they've gotten better in each. I can't wait for this game. I pre-ordered it at gamestop and they have a relase date of July 5th or something like that.

I loved Round 3 so much, the controls were just so intuitive; the way a jab is executed by a quick upward flick of the joystick and the hook is executed by moving the joystick down to the side and around. Plus, watching your opponents face slowly turn to a bloody pulp is awesome! Off topic, I just joined and was wondering how to post a pic for the profile, thanks.

I'm looking forward to this one. I've been playing them since they started with Knockout Kings. Round 3 looked great and played great but, to me, it just seemed too much like Round 2. It would be great if you could unlock some of the Punch-Out boxers in this one. Come on Nintendo, be a team player lol. Or maybe unlock the old Ring King boxer or the guys from Fighting Spirit. Ok, now I'm grasping at straws lol.
