Originally, Obsidian Entertainment's promising RPG, Alpha Protocol , was scheduled to release in February. Well, if you hadn't checked the calendar, it's mid-March, and we still don't have the game.
And sadly, you won't see it any time soon, either. According to GameSpot , Sega has issued an update: first, that mysterious "Aliens RPG" title has been "indefinitely suspended" and Protocol is now scheduled to release for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC in October. If you're currently unfamiliar, this game is like a sci-fi suspense thriller set in the freedom-oriented Western RPG format; you play as secret agent Michael Thorton, who has been forced to go rogue after his own government disavowed any knowledge of his existence. This is the type of game that should appeal to those who enjoyed Bioware's Mass Effect , as there's going to be a definite emphasis on player freedom and decision making. If you ever said to yourself, "wouldn't it be cool to play as a sci-fi Bond?," than this is the game for you. You'll also want to pay close attention to The Agency , which is a MMO that utilizes a similar premise, but of course, is based entirely on Internet multiplayer. We had hoped to get Alpha Protocol early this year, but you know what…? We can wait. We just want an awesome result.
But if you want a sneak peek now, you can always download the new Qore Episode , which features an early preview of the game. Otherwise, you're just gonna have to wait along with the rest of us.

I thought it would be cool, but I didn't see anything I really like in this game 🙁
I was looking forward to aliens, any idea what happened?

Ah man, more games that haven't peeked my interest. Now delayed? Sad story, Alpha Protocol looks good for an rpg.
An aliens RPG, doesn't sound like it could work. I still remember when they did an avp RTS and that straight out sucked. I don't understand why they don't stick to FPS, or do something like dead space for the aliens franchise
Sega just dropped the ball on these Aliens games. I wanted the FPS one badly!
