Valkyria Chronicles DLC Detailed

It won our "Most Overlooked" award in 2008 and it remains one of the most beloved titles of the generation so far…well, so far as RPG/strategy aficionados are concerned.

Now, you may remember when Sega promised something new for Gallia fans in North America, and while some were hoping for the announcement of a sequel, most banked on the possibility of new downloadable content. If you were of that majority, you have been proven correct: according to Kotaku , we will soon have three separate DLC packs! We'll get two brand new missions plus a Hard EX mode; of the extra missions, Edy's "Enter the Edy Detachment" "follows a group of six Gallia soldiers as they seek to rescue a village under siege by the Imperials." Selvaria's "Behind Her Blue Flame" switches things up a bit, as you're placed into the role of an Imperial engineer by the name of Johann. Obviously, this adds a good bit of variety as players will now be able to see some of the engaging storyline from the enemy's point of view. As for Hard EX mode, we figure it needs little explanation. We're not sure when these packs are coming but for now, it's enough to know that they are, in fact, on the way. If we had to guess, we'd expect this set of DLC to become available on the Store some time later this month…just don't quote us on that.

If you haven't yet taken Valkyria Chronicles for a test drive and you're a fan of the RPG/strategy genre, we strongly suggest giving it a try. It's both unique and entertaining, and it's easily one of the best titles on the PlayStation 3. Seriously, don't miss out!

Say the words "trophy patch" and I'm down.

I'll probably pick this game up to play during the summer.

Any idea if this DLC will be free? It isnt so attractive when its like 5-10 bucks for just one map or mode

Like the first comment on that link stated, utterly retarded. If people cant come to realize the PS3's potential then please STFU and take this some where else. Besides this has nothing to do with the new content for Valkyria Chronicles. Now does it?

I really want to play this game! With DLC coming soon, I'll definitely be getting this gem sometime soon. Let's hope the price falls a little more.. I'm still broke. =)

I love how excited everyone is about this! =)

Now, if only EVERYONE on this site were intelligent enough to know why this is important…

I love this game.

Just more to add to an already fantastic, and so far ONLY decent RPG on the PS3.
